He's still our player so we can do what we want! If we need a goal and he brings on McNulty ahead of Che that will tell us all we need to know.....I'm more interested in the complete absence of DCL...

DCL injured his side in the first half at Grimsby and is still recovering. He came out before kick off having a warm up with the team so would assume he's not too far away fitness wise

It'll be good if we do get Paul Caddis. He's better than Brayford and it'll mean we'll be getting Brayford off the wage bill, and possibly mean that we're likely to get Morsy in a part exchange for him.

How's that part exchange work, Caddis from brum and Morsy from Wigan?

If he was worth 2m you have to wonder why he didn't change the course of the game today...
If he's worth 1.7m and can't even make our first eleven u have to wonder what the @@@@ all our other forwards/wingers were doing today who have to be worth more ?

Obviously they aren't worth more or we would be selling them instead !!!

All i'm interested in is that Chris will have the money to strengthen, and that it does'nt slip into someones back pocket.

Welcome Intake Blade! I don't suppose you are the same Vimto throwing Intake Blade that has now been relieved of having to watch Sheffield United for 3 years? If so I think you might end up preferring this to the real thing.

No you don't. I doubt Lionel Messi would have changed that game today in the 20 minutes or so that Adams had. What he did show, briefly, was an urgency and sense of involvement that Done hadn't shown all game. I would put it this way...

You have to wonder why Done got selected ahead of Adams?

The only possible explanation is linked to Adams imminent departure.

Interesting speculation in this thread about this player going here and that player going there - let's hope it happens this week because I think the Adams thing is becoming a distraction and a possible bottle-neck to us finishing the recruitiment of our squad.

Are you suggesting we sell him for a lower valuation, just to get the distraction out of the way?

I'm struggling to find a comparative player on whom these fans who think we should be getting mega money are basing their valuation.

Adams scored 12 (?) last season, hardly set the world alight (how many games has he ever looked head and shoulders better than anyone else on the pitch?), I just don't know why anyone expects stupid money.

No he hasn't. He has looked like his head is not connected to his shoulders, though.

The lad has some raw qualities, but a "football brain" is not one of them.

Che to Brum, Caddis to us. Brayford to Wigan and Morsy to us.

If Carlsburg did transfers....

Has Rowett said anything regarding Paul Caddis omission from their squad yesterday? If Caddis is included in the deal then its a totally left-field swap from Brum as he's really popular with their fans and played regularly last season.

I think Done was picked over Adams because Wilder likes balance. he likes his LB, LCb, LW and LCM to be left footed. Upfront he now has Clarke left footed to Sharp.

Just found this on Paul Caddis from a Birmingham fans' site... http://www.oftenpartisan.co.uk/archives/15571/the-caddis-controversy.html

The Caddis Controversy

As the season draws it near one thing that seems to have been prevalent over Blues pre-season campaign has been Gary Rowett’s stubborn insistence on playing any other right-back than Paul Caddis. The Scottish defender has racked up 149 league appearances for Blues but there is no guarantee his 150th will come on Saturday against Cardiff.

Judging by what I’ve read on messageboards, the omission of Caddis has got a few people scratching their heads. Caddis has been a steady member of the squad, both while on loan and since he was signed permanently from Swindon Town in 2013. Last season he was dropped for Neal Eardley twice and for Ryan Shotton once by my count, yet returned to the squad each time following the luckless Neal Eardley’s injury woes and Rowett realising Shotton would be better used in the middle.

I think there’s a few reasons why Rowett has looked at other options to the Scot. Firstly, and chief among them I think comes down to Caddis’ diminutive size – at 5’7 he’s pretty short and from what I’ve seen Rowett likes to have a tall backline. I think it’s no coincidence he’s tried Jonathan Spector (6’0) at full back in pre-season – there is a definite Tony Pulis-like need from the Blues manager for a full-back to not be dominated so easily in the air.

Likewise, I think that Rowett is also looking for a full-back who is a bit more defensive than Paul Caddis. This is one of the controversial bits for me, because I’m a fan of an attacking full-back who can support a winger – especially of the ilk of Rowett himself when he played behind Jon McCarthy. I get the impression that Caddis sees himself in more of an attacking light than Rowett wants and it’s almost like Rowett is prepared to try anyone who will stay a little further back and not commit forwards.

The emergence of Josh Cogley in pre-season is bound to put even more pressure onto Caddis. I’m not sure if it was just the kit being a bit unflattering but the Scot looked a bit more corpulent than usual against Solihull Moors in the first friendly I saw and barring Port Vale (which including being in an unfamiliar left back slot for a while) didn’t play that well in pre-season; Cogley on the other hand seized his chance to show what he can do – ironically making both goals in Burslem with beautiful crosses.

I’m almost certain we’ll see Jonathan Spector at full back on Saturday against Cardiff; I wouldn’t be that surprised to see Cogley get a nod on the bench at least in the cup against Oxford United. I guess the onus is on Caddis now to show Rowett why he should be in the team and once again oust a player who would take his place.

So this could well be a goer. I hope so.

Some rumours from the Brum end that Paul Caddis is being sent our way as part of this deal. He was left out of their squad today and their fans aren't happy about it. A right back by all accounts...........

If we bring in a f**king midget right back when even Stevie Wonder could plainly see we need a GK, CH, CM, LW with the desperation of a fish out of water ....... then we need our bloody bumps feeling !!!!!

Presumably this will only happen if we sell Brayford (as well as Che) to cover the cost of getting the players we need.

It's quite obvious that we'll only bring Caddis in if we at least have the intention of moving Brayford on.

I think it was just some Birmingham putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 after seeing they agreed a fee for Adams and Caddis not being in their team. Another one of their fans said that Caddis is still a few weeks away from fitness yet and was doing all the warm up/down drills on the pitch yesterday. Can't see there being any truth in the link myself

Only thing with player exchanges like this is that there is obviously no intention for the player to move. So in Caddis' case, if he comes to us I doubt it's with his blessing.

The only time I remember a player + cash work out in our favour was £1m + Nuddy for Woodhouse.
