Hes only worth what someone is willing to pay for him. I think that's all hes worth to be honest. around 2 million mark. Hes overrated by some of our fans.
 

So who gets the number 9 shirt. Can Clarke be switched? Or is Wilder planning a swoop for another striker???

You can't switch them. As I said when the numbers were announced, surprised that he didn't give Clarke 9 as Che was likely to be on his way.
We didn't have a No 9 all last season after Murphy went. Bring back Billy Dearden!

I love your enthusiasm and your heart's in the right place ......... but there is more chance of me getting a steamy threesome with Kelly Brook and Scarlet Johannsen tonight, than there is of Tufty getting his eager hands on the Adams transfer fee for first team squad building !! :(

And that's regrettable because we still need 4 / 5 decent players to make this squad a promotion squad ........ :(

He's still our player so we can do what we want! If we need a goal and he brings on McNulty ahead of Che that will tell us all we need to know.....I'm more interested in the complete absence of DCL...
 
The money needs spending on some much needed pace and strength. Out wide and through the middle.
 
£1.9M which includes add ons ... Then a percentage to Ilkeston, shocking deal if this is true. Its a good thing some on here aren't dealing with transfers for the club, we would have ended up with a bag of chestnuts and a sherbet dip !!!

He seems to think we have a divine right to get unbelievable sums of money for a young player just because of stupid fees knocking around. Not every young player is capable of demanding £5m+. Young players are being sold for more these days but that doesn't make scouts blind or stupid.
 
What would be acceptable for Adams .... £2M plus add ons. No less in my opinion. It's not an unreasonable amount but would allow the percentage to Ilkeston and (hopefully) the 2 or 3 players we need.

I'm struggling to find a comparative player on whom these fans who think we should be getting mega money are basing their valuation.

Adams scored 12 (?) last season, hardly set the world alight (how many games has he ever looked head and shoulders better than anyone else on the pitch?), I just don't know why anyone expects stupid money.

He came on and took on and beat about 3 Bolton players which is more than can be said about the rest of the team today. Although not sure what position he was actually playing in the end he seemed to drift around.

Although we will no doubt sell him for fuck all anyway so who cares.
 
It's not that people expect stupid money, it's that you see players like Roofe go for £3M from league 2 and expect a certain level for a young player who has on occasion showed ability that suggests potential. In today's transfer mayhem, £2M plus add ons isn't stupid money to me. We won't be getting anywhere near the £5M some are talking about, he isn't worth anywhere near that. I also think we are all fed up of losing decent players for peanuts, we just want a reasonable fee.
 
My thoughts are that if Adams has the potential to be a top Championship or even Premier League player then he is worth at least £2 million plus add ons. If he is not and is as bad as what some of the people on here are saying then no teams in the higher leagues should be bidding on him.
 
Some rumours from the Brum end that Paul Caddis is being sent our way as part of this deal. He was left out of their squad today and their fans aren't happy about it. A right back by all accounts...........

Is he coming as one of those loans,what they can call back at a minutes notice and leave you stranded.

I believe he can also play centre-mid, not sure how often he has played there though tbh. Blues fans love him because he runs his bollocks off every game and think he kept them up with his goal couple seasons ago. Got great delivery so would be an improvement on Brayford in atleast that aspect. Not convinced we should be looking at right-back although Caddis is a good player. Think i'd prefer maybe Andrew Shinnie from them to come the other way if somebody was.
