Indupedately ..incongruescally put .an ethral ambiguity congigated by your euphamistically annunciated conflagration.excentuates the varisty of your extrapulations

Don't forget Ilkeston's sizable cut of any proceed's we receive from Adams' sale - this could amount to several hundred thousand pounds.

Despite that, IMO - if his sale will finance the signing (transfer fees & salaries) of 2-3 additional players that CW wants and feels would improve the side overall then we should take a short-term view and deal. We are simply not in a good enough position (financially and in terms of league status) to be able to hold onto a players (albeit one with good potential) of that value that won't be guaranteed starters when we have other priorities & gaps i.e. LM, CB, GK, CM.

Let's just make one or two assumptions, outrageously, ludicrously implausible though they may be:

1. Tufty doesn't rate Adams all that highly.
2. He wants to bring in players that he really rates highly and will, in his view, make a difference.
3. His budget means he has to sell to finance the further recruitment.
4. £1.7m is as good as he can get, given that neither NU nor WA have followed up interest with money.
5. Tufty thinks Ché is a price worth paying to further his own plans. He wants to take the offer from Brum.

Of course, all the above is light years from the truth. It's clear CW wants to hang on to Adams like grim death.

Just indulge my crazy theory, though, for one moment. Should we tell Brum to piss off?

All good points Pinchy, my only gripe is #4:

While Adam's precise value is unknown /subjective, I don't think it would be unfair to assume it's more than £1.7m. How much more is down to interpretation. (IMO it's closer to £2.5m-£3m)

If that's the case, then for once I'd love us to hold out and be strong in negotiations. Adams, while good, isn't integral to the first team, meaning we can hold on and wait until later in the window and get closer to his true value.

The only problem that could arise is if any future incomings are dependent on his sale, if so: bollocks.

According to a Birmingham fan we should be grateful cuz we're a "poverty club"
That'd make me price them out of it... Do they even have a £, who actually owns em

Second bid turned down from Birmingham say James Shield on twitter....sorry don't know how to put twitter on here:oops:

Bid rejected.
Sources in the Midlands now suggesting Birmingham's second bid for Che Adams has also been rejected. #sufc

James shield stating that Midlands sources indicate that birminghams second bid for Adams has been rejected.

Good god other people than me with nothing better to do lol

James Shield, The Stir's so-called Utd correspondent relying on 'sources in the Midlands'. You'd have thought he would have a few sources at Utd considering the amount of time he's been in his role. Utterly useless!

Gary Rowett basically admitting in the press that they are doing all they can to turn Che's head by making their bids public and hoping Che wants to go play there and demand a move.

Fucking scum bags. Hope che tells them to get fucked.

Come to Birmingham - behold our magnificent stadium, albeit not quite as big or good as that of your previous club.

Behold our superb attendance of 17,603, albeit slightly less than that of your previous club, even though they were at a lower level.

If Birmingham is the best on offer and the best they can offer is odds and sods to get to 1.7m then both player and club should just tell them ever so politely to 'jog on'.

1.7 turned down does include add ons though and also don't know if it's been mentioned but ilkeston have a 20% sell on clause .

So 1.3m rising to 1.7 based on Birmingham doing something they are not likely to I.e. Get promoted for example.

1.3m then becomes 1.04m once the sell on is removed.

3 year deal, so about 350k up front.

I think we can wait a little longer!

Pinchy, I just think £1.7m is a bit light, unless that becomes plus a player. For me, the bidding starts at £2m. Whether he is worth that is open to debate, but it would be nice to get a decent deal given the crazy fashion of the transfer market currently.

Perhaps that Birmingham fan would like to accept my invitation to go and fuck himself.

Think we'll hold out for north of £2.25-£2.5m.

SUFC have managed this negotiation well and overall our summer business has been excellent. Effectively we've got an embarrassment of riches up top and we're under no pressure to sell. So plenty of "birds in the hand". I suspect there's at least one other party apart from Brum sniffing around but behind the scenes. Birmingham's courtship of Che in public only alerts other clubs that he's a potential signing as the season approaches and the pressure ramps up to get their squad in order.

Tell em all £5m or fuck off. If we end up getting £3m then that's ok but anything light is insulting.

Fair play to our lot for the first time in recent history we appear to be not bending over on a first date. Has something changed?

Think £3m is strong for me. But hey if we get it!
