I don't give a shit whether we can afford Clarke or not. I would sooner United showed their ambitions by turning down all bids for Che, as he will end up twice the player Clarke is.

Lenor. Ok I only cheated a little bit and it does smell good.
Che will no doubt end up twice the player Clarke is . No brainier , but that's in the future
It's here and now that's in question . We have to get out of league 1 and Clarke is the better bet than Che , to assist in achieving this .
Me i will go with the Wilder / Knill decision .
UTB.
Is this close enough to esme? S24 posters could crowd fund it for your daughter. That is Esmeralda. Or rather it might be, but we are not sure. Esme was a BHS "hottie" which was my daughter's favourite toy last seen in Los Angeles. This one was sold to someone from Stoke on Ebay. He never answered my emails about her. We have always said she will come back. Until then she is alive in our hearts and on this forum.![]()

Dan Burn got to 32 pages, Macfadz only managed 20.
.
I know we debated this before, but we can't actually prove that Adams will end up twice the player mate. Football is as more if not more about attitude, determination, professionalism and mental strength than it is skill. How many decent players have we seen with lots of skill but never achieved their potential and other than injury, its usually because their attitude isn't good enough as it could be. Baxter is an obvious case. I'm not saying Clarke has been a beacon of professionalism but I'm not so sure Adams is either.
To add to your observation Booker4, I recall a fullback who played for Arsenal. A first choice throughout his career, tough, rugged, even uncompromising, but always dedicated to the cause. His name? Pat Rice. A lesson to anyone who thinks that talent alone is the difference between those who 'make it' and those who fail. We've all seen examples of players who consider themselves a cut above the rest. They tend to learn, usually through a career that see's them fall through the divisions with alarming haste, that talent without application is something they should have avoided. I hope Adams isn't one of those, but it's his career to lose, and only he can decide if he wants to continue to learn, or assume that the occasional good performance will impress anyone.

Bury have rejected another bid from Sheffield United for striker Leon Clarke. #BuryFC #sufc #TwitterBlades
This is from two hours ago. Assuming this is the third bid, then its maybe time to move on and go for someone else. Bury are clearly desperate to keep hold of him and fair enough, because they'd be hard pressed to replace him at this stage.

507 posts to get from an ex Pig striker to a fabric softener....... The wierd and wacky world of a football forum eh??!!
and signing for Burton ?This sort of situation plays out frequently in football. The next phase is the player asking for a transfer...
Flitcroft is going to look a proper 'nana if we do sign Clarke....![]()
Did I understand that correctly? Coventry want him but are not prepared to pay any kind of fee...
Yes, if our £75,000 bid is `embarrassing`, what does that make Coventry`s bid of `please cancel his contract so we can sign him for nowt`Did I understand that correctly? Coventry want him but are not prepared to pay any kind of fee...
That really is embarrassing. "On Tony Mowbray's wish list", more like his 'fucking dreaming' list.
