I was just thinking the same thing Crabby, why is he so vocal at calling our bids embarrassing and comical? What has gone on in the past between Sheffield United and Titcroft, er, I mean Shitcroft, no I mean Flitcroft, sorry lads, a bit tongue tied today.........

he slumped to 25 i said 3
he said 20 i said 5
15 , was met by 7
sold for 10 , saving 20

wednesday havent grasped this yet
how much do you want for hanley , 6 mill

they cant get to grips , no wonder they visit the tax office so much

Makes you wonder Grappler doesn't it? He comes across like some sort of scorned lover. He'll be sat in Mcabes office next, switching the light on and off and boiling his bunny.

Very unprofessional indeed. Why not just say "we are a million miles away in terms of valuation", or, "SUFC's valuation of our player does not match ours, until that changes, there is no sale", or something like that, to come across as a professional manager?

Just put Clarke's name into twitter search and this didn't come up, so perhaps it isn't true.

Exactly. I'd say he's just bigging himself up to their fans, so that when they sell, and they will because they have to, he can play the victim and it'll be "poor old Flicker, sold down the river by the board". He'd be better off being honest, surely their fans know they are in the shit?
 
We must be approaching our ceiling bid now. I just wish these things were more simple but I get why they're not. The bidding club doesn't want to say how much their ceiling is and the selling club will rarely say what offer they'll sell a player for, just in case they can get more out of a cat and mouse game and vice versa for the bidding club. Part of me just thinks lets move on and sign Uche Ikpeazu on a free! If Adams does stay then we don't need Clarke as much but if he goes then we really need a proven replacement and obviously the likes of Uche is not that, but he will improve with game time, you would think.

To be fair, Terry Kennedy soon made short work of him when he came on for the second half at Port "shithouse" Vale, but I agree he should improve with game time.

If it's true that Rotherham have bid £500'000, then I'd step back from the table. I get the argument that you could be buying the goals that make the difference, but to me thats too much for him.

You paid 5 times your original offer, for Mr LLM to have done the inverse, he would have had to sell for 6 eu. He wins.

He's more for the future but if we don't get Clarke then I think he's got definite potential. He was top scorer for Reading youth when he was there with 28 goals I think and has shown in his loan spells that he has the ability. £500,000 would be my ceiling for Clarke, but I don't know the alternatives that might be better. There does seem to be a lack of goal scoring target men out there. I know Clarke isn't like Chris Hanson but he'll be a decent compliment to Billy.
 
My maximum for Clarke would probably be about 175k up front with goal and promotion bonuses potentially taking it to 300k. Which would be a small price to pay if we'd/he'd been successful.
