Would just like to add that there is a positive in this basically we offered him good terms although not as good as Burton short term ie we offered him a increase on wages if we got promoted where as Burton if they get relegated it will decrease . Overall the blades have offered a good incentive and players will be rewarded with a promotion rather than the usual we just give you what you want now. I would imagine we have done this with other players signed also still a decent wedge for a good centre half with more budget from anyone that leaves . UTB

Cheers for the info MB

It appears that because Kyle had handed in a transfer request and was virtually on strike, our board believed they could get him on the cheap. They gambled that eventually MK would have to relent and sell him for less than they wanted, or they would have to just leave him in the reserves.
As usual our board has got it wrong. They thought that because Kyle is a fan, his desire to come to the lane meant that he would only move to us. This is professional football and players are no more than mercenaries, who have no loyalty.

I suspect that the Blades board were loving the fact that Kyle was attempting to engineer a move to us, as they thought they MK would eventually have to come cap in hand to us and accept a low offer. The board should have offered a realistic fee for Kyle, but instead we have now missed out on the player. MK would have sold him to us, if we had offered a realistic fee. The Blades board never learns, they remain a total joke.

Why on earth is it "the Board".

The manager has a budget to work to along with the Technical Committe.

Why is it "the Board". Do you think the prince and McCabe are involved at a level which settled somewhere between £200k and £500k? Get real. It's a football decision and the manager is mindful of working to a budget. It's him who stated that we are not going to pay over the odds just because we are SUFC.

Word on the street is that Robinson let him go to Burton at a lower price than we would have to pay..it wouldn't surprise me if this is true

I've heard the same this afternoon.

I'm new to this ITK business, do I need to put 'FACT' at the end?:eek::eek:

Sauce was Peppercorn with a nice bottle of Malbec. o_O

Sure it wasn't Burtons looking for a dummy for their shop window? Shame really, we just got rid of a load.

Don't you think they may have considered the scenario that another club might come in for him with acceptable terms? That often happens when a player is decent. Or perhaps they thought he was shit really but they'd sign him up because we'd all have a wank about him being a Blade?

Said it before, dont see the obsession with this guy. Never seen him have a good game. He was slow, clumsy and error prone in games I saw.

He has just been part of a side that has been relegated. He is 29 and not going to improve. If it wasn't for all the Blades connections/tweets; don't think anyone would bat an eyelid.

Glad we have not signed him. Still need another centre back to partner O'Connell. Not sure the other lads Wilson or Wright were signed to be starters.

Agree Deadbat, seen K McFadge on a few occasions and never been overly fussed by his performances. Looked a tad top heavy last time I saw him play and nothing outstanding. Having said that I expect our new cb's to be of similar ilk as this is where we are right now.

Ot seems a bit like sour graprs guys. I would have had him and been happy if we had got him. Now we haven't, I wish him well. I do really hope that we pass him as we go up and they come down though. As for playing for us, that should never happen now. He will be too old and not good enough if that scenario of passing arises.

Still got three of Clough's on the list, even now.

Mind you, credit where it's due, the Cloughs' did sign Adams. Simon probably kept reading about him in the local Ilkeston Gazette in between customers. I like K.Wallace too.

Thought he was nailed on. Can't be much of a blade if he can bear to play under that cunt.

I think most people thought he was nailed on to come to the Lane, however after a deal with the Blades could not be agreed, his choices were limited. He had made it impossible for himself to be brought back into the fold at MK, after virtually going on strike. Unless other clubs were interested, he had no choice but to go to Burton, apart from sitting in the reserves at MK.

With respect, I really don't get your opinion of "CAN'T BE MUCH OF A BLADE, IF HE CAN BEAR TO PLAY UNDER THAT CUNT". He probably had no realistic other alternative, but to sign for Burton, after burning his bridges at MK. Being a Blade or not does not come into the equation when signing for them. He's a professional footballer first and foremost.

I also cant understand anyone slagging off Clough for signing him. We sacked Clough and as Burton manager he can sign whoever he chooses. He attempted to sign McFadzean when he was our manager, so clearly rates him.
Its ridiculous of anyone to slag of Cloughie for signing him, or Kyle for signing for him.

It's OK. We'll sign him in August after he's chinned Cloughy. You know what he's like with defenders.

Cloughie signs McFadzean. His dream signing would be Brayford.
We have Brayford. What chance a swap deal being brokered, at some point. Stranger things have happened, although wages could be a deal breaker.

I was having a nice day .

McFadzean is now history and we move on . If Wilder wanted him that much we would have signed him . He cannot be the missing jigsaw piece.

Agreed Woody Wilder has said the club won't be held to ransome while he's here , if we have put a bid in which we as a club think is value for money and this is not accepted we don't up it ,Wow we have got a manager that says enough is enough and refuses to increase it.
Macfadzean had a problem ,MKD Sticking to over valuing Kyle and he burning his boats at MKDS. Clough comes in and offers him a way out and takes it.
They probably have got him at a knock down price as MK as well as Kyle needed a conclusion quickly ( Kyle missing pre-season training ) ..
I think Kyle had got the message (we were not going to be held to ransome) and took the opportunity to play in championship next season with Burton
goddknows how Burton will pay the wages which he and one or two others will be on if they come straight back to divi 1 ( gates of 3,500 ).
Not ITK so I may have got it wrong but it's pleasing we stuck to our guns and look elsewhere for a centre back.

WHAT HE SAID ^^^^^^^^ I don't see why some were going nuts for us to sign this guy, we just got rid of the other one from the same mould ........................ a bit thick and not that good at football.

On reflection I couldn't give a flying fuck about this cunt if he wanted to haggle over a few quid clearly he's not arsed so fuck off to that cunt Clough and get relegated again! Daft bastard
