CONFIRMED Burton in for McFadzean

Kevin Long would be a pretty good signing, but I was hoping for a solid, consistent league 1 centre half who knows how to get out of this division. We don't have it.

Would just like to add that there is a positive in this basically we offered him good terms although not as good as Burton short term ie we offered him a increase on wages if we got promoted where as Burton if they get relegated it will decrease . Overall the blades have offered a good incentive and players will be rewarded with a promotion rather than the usual we just give you what you want now. I would imagine we have done this with other players signed also still a decent wedge for a good centre half with more budget from anyone that leaves . UTB

Marsh, like the comment still a decent wedge but given we've signed 3 centre halves there has to be a chance Wilder leaves it at that ?

Doubt it. Wilder is big on balance so I can't see him being happy with 3 left sided centre halves (O'Connell, Wright and Semple) but only one right sided (Wilson). There will be another CB on his way in.

After Robinson stated they would not sell him to a divisional rival, press reports later stated that MK were now willing to sell to the Blades. It was reported that they wanted half a million, however we offered approximately half that amount.

A non divisional rival has then come in and offered a realistic fee that has been accepted. MK had a valuation for the player that we did not meet.
The reality is that Kyle will not have been sold to Burton for less than we offered. MK are not in a position to do that, they would always sell to the highest bidder. If we both offered the same, then yes the would prefer to sell to a non divisional rival, however if we wanted the player, we should have offered more than Burton.

I agree with another right sided centre back coming in.

Young Semple needs a year with 21s and even maybe a 6 month loan to mature. Looks a good lad though. Like him alot but at 17 maybe its just a bit too early for him.
 
OK. Now that that’s over, let’s go and bust a gut to see if we can lure Harry Maguire back. Him and O Connell could be a formidable partnership.

Maybe old Cloughy is doing us a favour and he will sell him onto us for 10% more than they paid (but still less than what MK wanted) ;)

But it's quite possible Burton have paid less than we were quoted. We were quoted 500k as they really didn't want him coming to us. At this stage nobody knows exact figures but don't let that stop you slating the board. We've paid over the odds so many times and so far it's got us knowhere. We move on

I dont know which side he usually plays I believe he was left sided when he played for us. I havent really followed him since.

The TransferMarket.co.uk has him down as both footed. However they do say is market value is 630K so what do they know :)
