It appears that because Kyle had handed in a transfer request and was virtually on strike, our board believed they could get him on the cheap. They gambled that eventually MK would have to relent and sell him for less than they wanted, or they would have to just leave him in the reserves.
As usual our board has got it wrong. They thought that because Kyle is a fan, his desire to come to the lane meant that he would only move to us. This is professional football and players are no more than mercenaries, who have no loyalty.
I suspect that the Blades board were loving the fact that Kyle was attempting to engineer a move to us, as they thought they MK would eventually have to come cap in hand to us and accept a low offer. The board should have offered a realistic fee for Kyle, but instead we have now missed out on the player. MK would have sold him to us, if we had offered a realistic fee. The Blades board never learns, they remain a total joke.
