Burton won't pay either the fee or the wages required. The wages in particular would have to be very high to convince him to give up on his first choice move as early as this.
And how many players really want to go from one relegation battle to another? When you can play for your home town club in a possible promotion campaign.

Bit of a fucker, that one. I think we still need another CB similar to McFadz. I don't think we've yet got our right-sided first choice.

I notice Burton have beaten their previous record transfer fee in buying McFadzean.

Not hard when it was only £20k

I can't believe that. He seemed nailed on to sign for us. The Clough factor makes it even harder to take. Mind you, if our board were competent they'd have gone ahead with his signing last summer and not Conor Sammon's.

What the hell will they be paying him?

Did United really commit to signing him?

Bet they've been haggling over about 20k for a week.

Can't see us playing two left footed centre backs.

That's Sunjihi's 100% gone then...he's had a bit of a mad one with those transfer rumours he posted a bit back

Bet we couldn`t agree the fee, and Kyle got fed up of waiting.

Don't forget Nige was close to signing him here 12 months ago before he got the chop.

If our 'deadline' was Friday, that explains the move to Burton and our move for Wright.

Perhaps we offered the same as Burton, but MK wanted more, as we're in the same league, and hence that was the reason for the stand off.

I think Wilder thought this deal would happen, Wright and O`Connell are left footed, so Wilson the only right footed centre half on the books.

Must have a back up plan, think we will be looking for an experienced player to come in.

As I said in a previous post, McFadzean hasn`t trained with anyone this summer, how long does he wait??
Can`t blame him, but really surprised, at least we`ll all see how good a defender he is next season!

Sounds like another Connor Coady situation, we want him it will cost double what he actually he's sold for.

We move on, think he's made a mistake personally, let's see in 12 months

Genuinely surprised at him going there. Granted its the Championship but its going to be a bit like Swindon Town in the Premiership. Doomed to relegation, losing most weeks in front of League One crowds at home and then back in League One next season. My guess is that his situation at MK became untenable and he had to go, and since we couldn't agree a fee, going to Burton was still better than staying at MK, having burnt his bridges. Wish him well but it seems a move that has been forced on him, though his own desperation to leave and join United. That's my guess and I know there's some definite assumption there. Also playing under Clough's unique man management wouldn't be for me, but good luck to him. Once a Blade always a Blade.

By which time he'll have played at Villa Park, St James Park, Elland Road etc. instead of Fleetwood, Gillingham, Bury et al.

On top of that, if he's managed to wangle a "go down and I'm fucking off" clause then he's laughing his cods off.

I would bet that apart from ourselves and M.K, no one knows who he is. It's not like we've lost a gem now is it?
Good luck to him as he's a Blade but if we can't find anyone as good or better than him then it's time to pack in. In Wilder we trust.

I have to disagree on your assessment re Kyle. He might not be a well known name in the Championship, but he's a no nonsense defender who plays as a defender and to a decent level too. He's not gone for the fee he has from MK by not been decent at MK. He would have played alongside O'Connell in my view had we signed him and I don't think we can get better within our budget, but that said Wilder has already signed three centre backs, and whilst it remains to see how good they are, I trust Wilder's judgement and I think in O'Connell we've probably signed one of the best centre backs we could have realistically got and he's young and going to improve.

Not bothered. I don't think he's any better than those we have signed.

:D
I called this days ago. Clough has probably signed him just to be a prick. He'll then put him in the reserves for two years because he sneezed too loudly or summat.

Possibly, definately thought hed be announced a blade in the next couple of days tho. Oh well:D
