Had to read that several times...are you saying that Adams has flair and creativity?
I think those are two of the last things i'd associate with him.

Really?
I would say having some flair means having the ability to beat a man, cause problems for defenders. He Does that....and in doing so creates goal scoring chances for himself and others.
All about opinions though I suppose.

Kicking a ball past someone then chasing after it and getting there quicker than the defender isn't flair........like you say its about opinions.
I associate flair with the classier players, who have that a bit of extra something about them and a swagger, to do something a bit different.
I wouldn't hold Adams up as an example of that

Fair enough Sothall, I stand corrected.

though my point remains that we may as well wrap it up if all the good players are sold before being any use to the team.
At least Southampton play their talent for a season or two before selling and reap some benefit from them.
Really? If the academy makes a profit why would you want it shut down?

Is it making a profit though? Figure in running costs.
Well if we keep selling players, I suspect it is. I think KM said it was recently when asked that direct question.
However, I also suspect it's coming close to not making a profit. We've not had a decent sale since Fat Harry. Hence the pressure from KM to develop the youth players so that we either actually have some in the team or have one or two to sell and fund the signing of experienced players. If it's not doing either then you have to question why not.
And the answer could be:
It's not being run properly.
The managers have no interest as they are concentrating solely on promotion, knowing they will get the sack if they don't get us up.
It's a waste of time.

As I'm not in possession of the facts, I'm speculating of course.
But saying we might as well close the academy because we're selling a player not one person thought would play a major part this season seems to be a bit of an overreaction to me.

Everton must think so!

And they will either put him in their first team squad, or more likely send him out on loan. And I would bet they will be looking to send him to at least the same level we are at now.

Don't forget, for those who attended the KM luv-in, Kev is of a mind that we're the unluckiest club in the whole of football-dom. If it wasn't for bad luck we'd have no luck at all, or so says Kev Mc........so the selling of a youngster must somehow mean we've somehow pushed the unlucky button once again, surely? I can't believe how unlucky we are, I mean, only an unlucky club would intentionally not give a new manager the tools to carry out their trade with, go figure, doesn't make sense otherwise?

Good luck though Chris, you might just need it in the months ahead UTB

#Everton on Twitter is blowing up the the DCL news. Looks to be gathering momentum.

They are going to put him in their U21 set up, so he will do neither.

More and more young UK kids whether good , average or bad will be hoovered up by premiership clubs.

There is so much money swilling around , a million quid in the premiership is on par with a hundred quid in league 1. . If the kid makes it great , if not , what has been lost , nothing.

Commodity market of players , especially when some in the Chelsea academy are on reputed £10K a week.

Only a small percentage work out . My view let's take the money and build a promotion league 1 side.

Can't be right, how many on here insist he's "wank" to quote them?

Back here on loan perhaps.

Get a sell- on clause fgs.

DCL having a medical at Everton as we speak fee agreed

Kosher and first class business by the club , The hard bit , agreeing the transfer fee payment structure and any sell on percentage clause , ( with majority up front will be wavered .)

I didn't see DCL as a first teamer this season based on what I saw of him last season so this could work out well but only if the money goes back into the squad.

So realistically its a terrible move because we won't see any of the money we get for him

Good luck to the lad...it's a bit of a risk for Everton and hopefully Wilder get's the money... :o

How much for? £3.85p? or some of these?

DCL was terrible so all this seems extremely strange. As said above though, the money won't be re invested on transfer fees so it's largely pointless but pretending we will for a moment, great deal for us.

As has been mentioned, it's a good deal should money go back into the first team. History suggests 'reasons' will be used to suggest it has when maybe it's not clear it has. The sad thing is whether DCL makes it or not, we have flogged another youngster because some incompetant twat authorised Collins and Hammond to extend their own contract.

Funny that - cos little over an hour ago he was still at the EIS in Sheffield after the boxing session - see top right - so either he's some kind of superman (in which case we need to keep him!) or this is a bit premature of (dare I say) typical "ITK" postings based on today's reports!!?? Hmmm...

Very raw,we shall see what the future brings,if this finances the kmac deal no probs for me
