Is Done not in our plans?

Hopefully he will be but as a striker not as a left wing back. I'd have him on the bench to bring on to run at tiring defences.

Well he is all over the Lane shop advertising the new kit about 20 feet tall and looks like he's been on the Che diet (or had superimposed photoshop muscles added).

I didn't see Hammond, Woolford ET al plastered all over the shop wall.

Mind you I didn't check the club bar to see if McNulty is either plastered in it or plastered over it...

McNulty is modeling the leisurewear.

In the interview he seems to have forgot about Done, with him playing left wing back/ winger he probably doesn't see him as a striker.
I hope this isn't the case, we did sign him as a striker and he was successful in that role under Clough.

....he almost slipped into 'AdkinSpeak' there...almost..

think Wilder has mentioned him a few times as being part of the core of players he wants to build the new team around.

We are Blades fans and we know Done's best position is as a striker. Our manager is also a Blades fan, as well as a full-time professional football manager, but you think that because Adkins played Done as a wing-back, somehow our manager "doesn't see Done as a striker"? Doesn't make any sense.

Or more to the point Wilder doesn't really rate him . The guy is inconsistent and doesn't have a intelligent football brain . The positive is that he runs around like a headless chicken chasing lost causes , which after last seasons debacle was refreshing compared to others.

Rochdale , Barnsley , Rochdale , Blades is his pedigree . The bloke is either on his way or will be used off the bench as a impact player . He is not good enough as a first 11 player for a team that desperately requires promotion.

Swap deal would do me for a good CB.

If he stays I think he will be used as an impact player and he will be important. I can't see many league 1 defenders relishing coming up against the headless chicken for 20 mins after having to deal with billy and che.

Yeah, for me you've got to play him in Billy's role...same with McNuts...no more shoehorning players in unless desperate please.

Im only going on this interview and he didn't mention him, its not like we have many strikers.
He might see him as a winger like Adkins because he originally played there, but I'd hope he just slipped his mind has he's a far better striker then wideman.

Thing is, he's a better striker than wide man but our options are a lot better up front than they are out wide. Therefore, he might still have to "do a job" in a wide position. Personally, I'd have him ahead of McNulty as the back up to Sharp.

Adkins did play him as a striker for a while and he was pants. He hasn't actually played much of his career as a striker, so the notion that Wilder may also consider him for other positions isn't totally bizarre.

Not too bothered either way about Done. I doubt CW see him being anymore than a good squad player.

He was signed as a striker though and was doing quite well in that role until Adkins got hold of him.

He was rubbish right from the off. Running around like a headless chicken is his respnibilty and whatever your opinion of Adkins, Done can't be excused of that.

Whatever position he's played in, he's got to find his basic game again.

In any case, my original point holds. Most of his career hasn't been as a striker, we've got better current options, so nobody can be too surprised if Wilder didn't play him there.

Jumper draped around shoulders lollipop in ??

A nice pink one?

Totally disagree that " he was rubbish right from the off "
When he first came he got his fair share of goals (7 in 14 games) and looked a real menace. That's hardly being rubbish in what was effectively a very negative minded team. He had decent supply from the likes of Murphy which helped.
Last season started badly so he missed the majority of pre season with the broken collar bone. He was then playing catch up and like the Beard before him your just not the same without a good pre season. As for being a wingback then the answer is no. There's a reason why he moved to being a striker and to be fair he didn't look comfortable there. Agreed that we have a better option in Billy but a fit Done gives us options coming off the bench or if Sharp gets injured. At least Done puts in the effort which is more than can be said for the majority of last years work shy tossers

I was referring to his return from injury. He was terrific when he first came.

Lets hope he can rediscover that form in his best position, either starting or off the bench, Done will be an asset with CWs' high pressing mentality.

We won't get many players as cheap as him who can do what he can, which is press, harry and score the scrappy goals, it's absolutely pointless getting rid, there is enough shite already in our ranks who need to fuck off way before we even think about getting rid of Done.

My understanding from CW was that next season was going to be a clear-out, a fresh start! it seem strange to think that Players like Done and McNulty will suddenly become good players. Done was an exciting play when he first came in, but last season didn't have a clue (headless checken) SUFC website says he is a midfielder? and McNulty simply has never been good-enough, over the last 2 seasons hes had chance after chance but never did the business for us, and I see no reason why anything would change. But CW seems to want to go with him and seems confident he will score loads of goals for us, I hope both prove me wrong but I can see it. I'm not being pessimistic I just think we can do much better!

If we can get much better then I'm all for it, the problem is i don't think we can because of all the restructuring CW has to do with a smaller but decent budget to last year.

I am sure though that if we have any money left after he has the priority positions sorted or we get any offers for the aforementioned players then he will strengthen, I just doubt that any of the above will happen so we'll have to support the lads and hope they rediscover some form.

I haven't seen the shop myself, but when I saw the press release for the kit launch on the internet, I thought Done was one of the players modelling the kit (and was looking slightly different in a way I couldn't put my finger on). Then I read it was actually new signing Mark Duffy - could it actually be him in the club shop also?
