Fine line between worrying, and rejecting the daft, silly, over the top assertion that a bunch of players simply not technically good enough for a league one promotion outfit, are cunts, oxygen stealers and parasites.

Agree except it's not a fine line at all, it's a hundred miles away from being reasonable and calm.

You're a condescending chap, aren't you? Spouting your holier than thou diatribe to nobody in particular and thinking that this somehow puts you on a higher moral plateau than everybody else because others dare to criticise failure.

I understand why you have said that finally, but believe it or not my comments are just intended to balance views and the extremes we see on some threads. There is another point of view, that of the silent majority in the 18000 crowd and most of them aren't on here and those who are can't be bothered to try to balance extremist threads like this one.

I can't normally but it's been cold out and I've been watching cricket all day today ( England fine but I hate David Warner, bloody good bat and captain though).

Ah, so you see yourself as the David Dimbleby of S24SU.com? The moderator, such as it was?

I get made redundant on Tuesday, along with another 500 Sheffielder's, when a large printing firm at Tinsley closes its gates for the last time. It warms the cockles of my heart to know that blokes earning £200k a year who might have to go and do an 'ordinary' job have all your sympathy.

OK Axel, great sympathies for each and every one of you.

Imagine all your past neighbours, customers, friends, families, people who always said they were on your side, telling each and every one of you 500 good guys that it's all your fault for being lazy, unprofessional, heartless c***s, b******s and wage thieves.

Was it your fault the business failed or was it totally beyond your own control despite all you ever tried and did?

Hey Axel, I'm not picking on you, just picking your points to get my moderating views across!!;)

11th in League One.

Some suggest they're oxygen stealers, cunts and parasites.

Some suggest the players just weren't good enough.

Don't take much working out to know which is silly, daft and extreme, and which is accurate, realistic and a hell of a lot closer to the truth.

Yeah, I'm not particularly after anyone's sympathy. I won't be the first person on here to be made redundant, and unfortunately, I won't be the last either. Sheffield United has not failed as a business, it has not closed down, and it has not put 500 people out of work.

In addition, most people answer to their manager/directors etc. If they are made redundant, all they get is statutory government redundancy. If SUFC went tits up, the players would get their contracts paid up.

I am not watched by 18000 people every other week when I work, I haven't got the god - given talents of a professional footballer, but I am competent at my job and I always give my best. There are plenty of released Sheffield United players this summer who cannot look at themselves in the mirror and say the same thing.

Disagree. They have given their best because their job was at stake. They are all competent at their job ( maybe McGahey hasn't proved that yet because of his age) but their contribution is no longer required because their contracts are up ( they were regarded as competent at their job when they signed the contracts, very much so) and things have not gone to plan and things have changed.

Brilliant. Writing as much as you can doesn't justify your silly little point you know.

Your change from "oxygen stealers" and "parasites" didn't go unnoticed either.

I'll presume you've realised how daft that was.

You would've countenanced any perjorative term about Adkins last season and you know it. So get off your selective high horse. It's very transparent.

Anyway Blades, I'll give it a rest now. I just don't think these foul mouthed extreme Blades should be able to talk such vitriolic nonsense week in week out without someone from the silent majority piping up every now and then. I don't often get involved with them but today's been fun.:) Shame some haven't responded as yet though.

They were not competent at their job. If they were, for a club of United's stature in this division, paying out a £6m wage bill, they would have either got the club promoted, or come very close.

They have not - in my opinion - given their best. At all. They did not give their best against Shrewsbury at home, Rochdale away, Crewe away, Bury at home, Colchester at home, Millwall home and away, and that it just to name a few.

They will end up much further down the league pyramid now, playing in front of crowds of 5000, on perhaps half of what they were earning at the Lane, and many of them will look back in 5 years time and think - 'Shit, why didn't I try harder when I was at Sheffield United, now I'm at mid table Barnet in Division 4.'

'Shit, why didn't I try harder when I was at Sheffield United, now I'm at mid table Barnet in Division 4.'

WTF have Barnet FC done to deserve this shower of shit, worthless fannies and twats who shouldn't be kickin' a fuckin' football this side of cunting L2?

For those....

Find a post of mine labelling him anything similar to an oxygen stealer, parasite, or cunt.

It's not so much about high horses, far more about pointing out blatant silliness and stupidity.

I'm fucking sick of the snide comments and accusations.

I'm angry I've continued to support the club attended as often as possible and had some of the worst players ever turn out.

Yet i dish a bit of criticism out to folk who've earned more in 3 years than I'll ever earn and I'm the bad cunt.

Don't worry about it mate. You put some good posts up. I'll back you up. Keep yer chin up pal. Better times around the corner hopefully.

Anything you ever said about him. It's like shooting fish in a barrel.

Now explain how it's blatant silliness and stupidity......Mr Patron Saint of the 2015/16 squad.

But you made reference to 'loads of players doing their best'. If that was the case then you would indeed have a valid point. I've seen plenty of teams pass through this club, most weren't very good but until recent times the attitude and application of their limited abilities was at least evident.

This has not been the case with the squad that we've been lumbered with in the past 2 years. Their attitude stinks, their conduct off the pitch stinks. We have at least one player who couldn't even be arsed to train properly let alone play for the club that elevated him from non-league obscurity. Throw into the mix a two-time drug abuser and the numerous violations of discipline, the playboy cavalier attitude that several of these parasites display on social media and you have a squad which fulfills the very definition of wage theft.

Wilder himself has made veiled references to what I'm talking about. It's so blatantly obvious that a man who has only been manager at the club for two minutes can see it. Which is why he's eliminated many of them from the equation and told those who remain to shape up or fuck off.

These aren't professional players who merely haven't made the grade. They are individuals who had it nice and cushty at a nominally big club who paid a very handsome wage for their services and they repaid none of it because they saw no professional incentive to do so.
Not only should they not be at our club, they are an insult to the professional game as a whole and to the fans who invest their time, money, effort and emotion for scant return.
I seriously hope that Wilder makes life fucking tough for those remaining. Sharp and Brayford need as much of a fucking panning as Hammond in my book. Those who think Sharp is the king ...well now hopefully we have a manager who sees what utter bollocks that actually is. What makes that worth three times the wage of the top scorers this season?

Middle aged blokes might have been in the first thought of Mr Wilde

Yes but somewhatfacile to publish your gripes anonymously on the Internet & think t'owd Ozzie would have shared that view. I suspect Fingal O'Flahertie had interest in men of slightly more substance.

No patron saint, just not daft and ridiculous enough to state that players who, in reality just don't have the technical ability required for a league one promotion outfit are oxygen stealers and parasites that's all.

It's interesting that you now argue that it's nothing more that the players not being good enough. It's a point I argued all last season, and your continual line was that it was the managers fault.

We could have still made the playoffs on the penultimate game. Not so bad, surely, given that the players are so far short of what's required?

I'm rejecting the ridiculous added insults towards the players, that don't have anything to do with the fact that they just weren't good enough. We finished 5th last season. 5th isn't good enough for automatic promotion.

The manager added 5 expensive players and took it backwards to 11th. Even further from promotion. I believe the players weren't and still aren't good enough - this doesn't mean the manager is blameless.

The players weren't good enough for promotion before, and are much further from it now - due to the manager.

The two aren't mutually exclusive.

All those players and managers, made unemployed by the people who should be thanking
whoever they pray to, that they are above the precipice of unemployment, only for them does
the safety net apply.

This time next year, it may have been CW & AK getting the P45s, whilst...............

I'm saying your story doesn't quite add up, but I wished I hadn't started it because I'm bored already . :)

My dad was a pro footballer. He played in the 60's and 70's I know it's a long time ago but he always said fans didnt know how hard being a footballer was. You couldn't win you either weren't trying hard enough or trying too hard. You had a crap game not that the full back marking you had a blinder. He broke his leg playing (ultimately finished his career) he still had to support me and my mum. He finished up with knackered hips and knees and riddled with arthritis so I always have a bit of sympathy for injured players. At the end off the day nobody goes onto the pitch and try's to get injured. On to a it of a lighter note I asked him who was the best player who he ever played with or against I thought he would say George best or Denis law. He always said it was Alan Woodward beyond any doubt the most underrated player of his era.

Aaaaand you would have allowed the same vernacular to be used against the previous manager.

Like I said, transparent...
