I am quite sure Adkins told him to find a different club. It looks like Wilder took him off the transfer list?

Hopefully Tufty hasn't listed him because Fleetwood are in negotiations with us to buy him. Should be able to get £50 k for him and move him on as he's evidenced that he can't do the business in this agricultural Division.

Move him on for a fee, then Done next, and we have a great clean sweep and can move on to build a squad which IS capable of being consistent in this league ........

Scouggs hasn't been good for a long time but there is a good player in there for an attacking side.

Don't get wanting to move Done on. He got 20+ goals last year, and looked a real threat up top. Was signed as an attacking player, can't blame him for not being as good at left back in a shit side.

I'm going on the basis that Done seems to have lost at least 2 yards of pace in the last 12 months, and pace was his asset .......

Scougal is just too lightweight and that won't change ...... waste of a shirt as there are much better attacking midfield players available on a free atm ......

Don't think Done was happy playing where he was asked to play last season. Hopefully our new manager will find the Done that we had two seasons ago. An attacking player capable of getting goals.
As for Scougall, we never really saw him last season. When he was bought I think I remember Clough saying he was one for the future and then he played him almost straight away. Maybe we will see the Scougall who scored at Wembley. Fingers crossed.

Done missed all pre season after injury and I think he was essentially playing catch up after that. I hope after a pre season we see the talent that persuaded us to but him and he starts getting those instinctive finished again. I think hes one that deserves that chance.

We've certainly got an interesting summer. And that's what wilder will be judged on.

Weve freed up wages now we need to spend them on the right young driven players

He appeared to finish the season strongly at fleetwood. I have hope he will come good too

Scougal badgers opposing midfielders terrier like, not giving in, Billy the only other one to do that. Even if he doesn't get the ball it makes them think they don't have time on the ball when they get it. He might not be able to do it for 90 mins but that's why we have subs.

Like others I can see Scougall as one of the players who can potentially redeem themselves. I doubt he will be on crippling wages, he's still fairly young and had showed fantastic promise before his injury.

Part of the criteria for potential signings are young, hungry and with a point to prove and I'd say Scougs fits the bill.

Certainly wouldn't be the end of the world to give him an opportunity to get back into the fold in preseason and can't really understand any animosity aimed at him.

He could be OK ...and also he could be one of the few players someone might actually pay a fee for...

Turn back 2 summers and there was talk of Celtic considering a 7 figure bid for him and everyone on here saying he was not to be sold at any cost.

There is definitely a player in there and, if his injuries are out of the way and he can ignite his form from 2 seasons ago he can be an asset. You can't say he lacks energy or effort which fits the bill for a Wilder side.

Remember Sunjihi said a while back Wilder had the job, if so he may have kept an eye on his performances for Fleetwood where he was often MOTM. I hope he gets the best out of him again.

Done's major problem here is that I doubt we're going to play him alongside Sharp and he hasn't got much hope of starting ahead of him. It's kind of tragic watching him struggle as a winger. You can see why his career was sheer mediocrity until he got a move up top.

I think scougall is exactly the type of person that wilder can get the best out of. He just needs some direction

Well it's interesting comparing Scougall and Flynn. Flynn has been here about twice as long as Scougall. Flynn has played exactly three times as many league games but scored more than four times the number of goals. In FA Cup games Flynn has played 75% more games but has scored 500% more goals. In the League Cup their record is exactly the same allowing for appearances.

Interesting then that one is booted out and the other, for the moment remains.

We have all been complaining about the lack of speed in a counter attack, maybe he could be just the man to change that ....

I have nothing wrong with Scougall staying, yes he was poor last season but he does have heart and hopefully can find his form again.

IMO Scougall is a 'No.10' or nothing and can be busy, busy in support of 1 or 2 strikers.

He has a real surge on receiving the ball and can arrive with well timed runs into the box.

I think he has lacked confidence to express himself after his first season with us. Good managers instill confidence. Like someone says above "there is a player in there". I'll never forget his goal at Wembley - well timed arrival into the box and swept it in. Looked real quality at that time.

Personally I'm not sure he can retain his confidence over a prolonged period, even if he can find it. I hope he can bring himself to create more assists and score more goals - go for it lad!! Too many easy ball options played in the final third.

Glad he's staying, there's definitely a real asset of a player in there. The problem for me is simple - He's not been played in his preferred / correct position. He's a player who needs to play as the forward most midfielder of a five man midfield. Preferably in a team with high work rate and apply high pressure to the opposition when they're on the ball. If we're not going to play five in midfield then I can see reason to sell him as he isn't going to be able to compete in a 442. I guess Wilder is going to assess what formation he believes we should play given our remaining playing staff.

What is this fascination with expecting players to play to 100% of what they are capable of out of position? It's the same with Matt Done, how people are calling to sell him I don't understand. He's a striker and one who will provide a very good return in this league given he is played in his preferred position. Doesn't take a genius to work out he's always been average at best playing at LB, so don't play him there. I think some have been clouded by a manager whose tactics at the best of times seems clueless or a fluke.

I've always been a fan of Scougall, nay anyone who is busy, looks to cause problems for defenders and wants to try things no matter if they don't come off (also Matt Done).
I remember reading an article on him somewhere when he first signed that John Collins said he felt Scougall had enough skill to reach the Champions League. It always stuck with me and I always feel he's someone who would be worth keeping, but only if he was behind the front strikers not stuck out on the wing or as part of a 2 in the middle. As bad as he has been in the lst season or so, I'll always have time for him for his efforts in 2014. Certainly more time than Ryan Flynn that's for sure.
