Ramsdale
Wilson Basham O Connell
Brown Coutts Scougall Fleck Hussey
Chapman Lavary
Subs:- Long, Freeman, EEL, Whiteman, Brooks, Duffy, Sharp

Whiteman and Brooks to come on if we're winning comfortably.
Sharp and Duffy to come on if we need a goal.

If fit,

Ramsdale
Wilson Basham O Connell
Brown Basham Reed Hussey
Brooks Chapman
Lavery

Will our loanees be allowed to play? EEL & Chapman maybe required by their parent clubs for the 3rd round ties.

If the rules allow I wouldn't play a single 1st team regular on Sunday !

--------------------Ramsdale
--------Wilson------JOC------Semple
Basham---------------------------------Hussey
----------------Whiteman--Reed
----------------------Scougall
--------------Lavery-------Chapman

I'd have Brooks on the bench too. These sort of games are the ones to "givermarun" rather than in the league.

Depending on knocks and tiredness etc:

Moore
Wilson EEL O Connell
Freeman Duffy Coutts Fleck Lafferty
Scoogs Sharp

I wouldn't change too much for the FA cup and don't see how/why he'd drop Scoogs for this...I'd like to see Lavery get a start but expect that'll come Tuesday.

UTB!

Hope Lavery plays this and the meaningless Grimsby game to get up to speed on his 'match fitness'

I wouldn't change TOO much but there's a few lads who deserve a rest and a few who deserve a run out

Ramsdale
Brown Wilson Basham JOC Hussey
Whiteman Scougall Fleck
Lavery Sharp

Or if we're wanting to rest Sharp, we might have to change a lot:

Ramsdale
Brown Wilson Basham JOC Hussey
Brooks/Reed Whiteman Fleck
Scougall
Lavery

It's time for the young lads to get a run. Despite Orient being generally speaking a pretty solid league one name they're now nothing more than a struggling league two side. It's time for the likes of Reed and Whiteman to really make a mark.

Only Wilder knows which players need a rest. I'm sure he'll do that as necessary whilst playing the strongest XI.

Expect fringe players to get a run if we're two goals up.

I hope we don't see anything resembling the first team in either this or the Grimsby game. It's a good opportunity to rest and recharge ahead of Chesterfield and the key games in the run up to January - there are a lot of games in November. We don't have a massive squad and can't be risking injuries, particularly in the pointless game at Grimsby. Although we should try and make sure we get to the 3rd round of the FA Cup.

Orient game:

Moore

Brown EEL O'Connell Hussey

Basham Whiteman

Scougall Duffy Chapman

Lavery

Subs: Ramsdale, Wright, Lafferty, Fleck, Coutts, Brooks, Sharp

Half a team, strong enough to win. EEL nice and cup tied just in case Wolves are tempted to recall him for cup games. Starting with 4-2-3-1 to get more practice playing that way as it's something we might resort to.

Grimsby game:

Ramsdale

Brown Wilson Semple Hussey

Whiteman Reed

Brooks Scougall Chapman

Wright Jnr

Subs: Long, Cummings, Kelly, Gilmour, K Smith, Lavery, Hallam

Pay the fine if we have to. Although surely we shouldn't with it being such a dead rubber waste of time for all involved.

...............Moore..............

........Eel...Wright...Joc....

Freeman..............Lafferty..

.........Coutts.....Fleck.........

...............Duffy..................

.........Sharp.......Lavery.....

Subs: Ramsdale, Scoogs, Basham, Brown, Whiteman, Hussey, plus any fit striker at the club.

I wouldn't make too many changes personally. The lads must be buzzing at the moment and giving them a 2 week break could lose momentum. I would go

Moore

Ebanks Landell
Basham
O Connell

Freeman
Whiteman
Fleck
Scougall
Hussey

Lavery
Sharp

I'd like to see Lavery get some game time up there with Sharp

Then on Tuesday

Ramsdale

Brown
Hussey
Semple
Wright

Reed
Basham
Whiteman
Brooks

Chapman
Lavery (If fit enough to start two games)

Would rest: EEL, Wright, Freeman, Lafferty, Coutts, These fellas aren't used to playing such a large volume of games and Coutts, Lafferty and Freeman seemed to be showing signs of fatigue in the last couple of games . I'd consider resting Done and putting Lavery in the team for the next two, to aid his fitness, and let Done recover his injury. Would also be good to give our 2nd choice keeper a game or two. The Wednesday night game is irrelevant, but I'm sure Wilder could use the money from a good FA Cup run.

I doubt we'll use that team on Tuesday, don't think the club want the hassle of a fine.

For Sunday I'd go with:
Moore
EEL wright joc
Brown hussey
Scougall Brooks fleck
Sharp lavery

I'd try not to rest a lot of players and keep the confidence high plus the fact I would like to see us have a decent little run in the fa cup.

I'd rest lafferty and freeman as both have looked a little bit tired the last couple of matches and cover a lot of ground with them running up and down constantly so probably deserve a rest.
I'd give coutts a rest as well and see what Brooks can do, when ever I have seen him looks a good player for his ages and is full of confidence when on the ball for his age and put in a side where the confidence is already high I think he could do well and would like to see what his true abilities are.
Also I would like to see joc back in the team and get him some game time again after been ill.
And finally I'd like to see lavery in the team and try and get him up to full fitness and see what he is capable of think he has looked decent the last couple of games when he has come on.

I'd like to see Lavery given a long run out and get O'Connell back in.

What's happened to James Wilson? Is he injured? If not, then I'd like to see him get a game. Although EEL is obviously the better defender, it was harsh on Wilson getting dropped after scoring the winner v Oxford.

Give one or two of the young lads a try such as Brooks and Whiteman.

Seeing as we have to play half a first team on Tuesday we should play half the first Saturday and the other half Tuesday.

I'd say start the players that need a rest in the less competitive game on Tuesday

Maybe rest wright coutts freeman Duffy sharp on Saturday and the others Tuesday

I would maybe swap JOC and Semple around.

Don't think Semple will play in the Orient game but really hope to see him make a debut at Grimsby. Not a stellar fixture by any stretch of the imagination as we all agree about, but fantastic for the lad, great experience just to put under his belt.

I just think experience is important in the centre of the 3 defenders and that's a lot of responsibility to give to a young lad.

Semple is in the mould of Morgan. Heads and kicks anything and will not get bullied. I think to more experienced either side gives him a bit of protection.
That said, i am sure the lad would play in net if it meant a first team debut...

True but it's Grimsby in a dead rubber so it doesn't really matter and he's still got JOC alongside him to help him out.

It's an odd one this. Club will want a cup run to at least the third round, and playing a second string line up will see a second string result and defeat ala Walsall.

However, I would be gutted to lose one of Fleck, Coutts, Duffy, Wright, Basham, Sharp to lengthy injury in a cup game and have an impact on league form.
Simply resting those players who are the mainstay of the side and a major reason in recent upturns in form won't see the required drive, workrate and quality from those who come in.

I suspect EEL will be refused permission to play.

But I would go with

Ramsdale
Wilson/Wright/O'Connell

Whiteman, Scougall, Fleck, Basham, Hussey
Chapman
Lavery.

Stick Coutts, Freeman, Sharp on the bench and only bring them on if we need them. Rest of Sub spots to be filled by Youth. But I think we need to be playing to our preferred formation.
