Your second club

Newcastle and Sunderland.

Newcastle because they once likened themselves to us as a historic traditional club in one of their programs, and Sunderland because like us they have lots of fanatical fans and play in red & white ;)

Middlesbrough. My best mate is a 'Boro fan, and I have a lot of mates in the northeast that support them.

I should state at this point that whenever we play them, I always hope for a huge Blades win. I enjoy the friendly "banter" with my northeastern friends (and several of them feel the same about the Blades, and have grown to despise the snort beasts during our friendship) and wish 'Boro all the best as long as they aren't in the same division as us (next year could be fun if all goes well for us).

Apart from that, nobody. I enjoy watching the Champions' League for the quality of football on show from the European "big boys" but I would never actively "support" any of them.

Far too many - my default is to pick a team in any league I take an interest in.

Scotland: Hearts - moved to Edinburgh age 6, and liked Maroon better than Green. Obviously made the right choice. And East Stirlingshire.
Spain: Deportivo - they were challenging the Big 2 when I got into Spanish football, and you have to go for the underdog
Holland: Sparta Rotterdam - red & white stripes and a smaller club
Germany: Kaiserslautern - the guy who did the Bundesliga summary on rec.sport.soccer was a 1FCK fan
France: Bordeaux - and the chap who did Ligue 1 was a Bordeaux fan
Italy: Genoa - for no other reason than liking the strip

FC Viktoria Plzen, been to see them a couple of time when I've been working over there! & Alfreton Town, my local club, I go go to see them when the blades aren't playing! but I'd watch a game in the local park if thats all that was on, I'm just a football lover!

no need to shout !...:)

Going from the thread of clubs you dislike most, who is your second club you follow.

For me I have 2 I always keep an eye out for
1st. Killmarnock cause we got Jock Bryson from em..

2nd. Colchester United, me and mi dad always use to look for their score, can't really explain why, I think it had sommat to do with one of dads friends..both long gone now..

Jesus, what do they both have in common?

THEY BOTH PLAY IN BLUE AND WHITE STRIPES!! (Pig alert, Pig alert).

I live in Kilmarnock and their ground bears a striking resemblance to Hillsborough particularly the floodlights. They also have an animal as their emblem. Have you been infested by aliens this Christmas ? How they hell can a bona fide Blade follow anyone who plays in blue and white fucking stripes. Ho ho fucking ho. Bah! :)

For me it is Bournemouth as that's where I was born. They also play in red and black stripes (although red shirts when I were a nipper when they were known as Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic).

Spurs (family and friends, used to go to a few games)
FC Dallas (cowboys fan so natural choice)
Juventus (loved it when they sold rush after one year)
Barcelona (you're either one or the other)
Den Haag (lived there)

I have a love/hate relationship with Chesterfield. Pretty much like you feel after a divorce; you stay nice for the sake of the children but deep down the bitterness remains.

Since becoming a fan of Isabella Muller Reinhardt's Bundesliga highlights show I have developed a bit of a crush on Werder Bremen, as well as on Isabella herself.

Never thought I'd have a 2nd team until I started watching Sheffield FC. Got a season ticket down there now and attend the odd away game here and there. Other clubs who I like to do well but aren't anything more than that include AFC Wimbledon, Hibernian, Plymouth, Derby, Spurs and Hallam FC.

I think the popular reply should be none but arsenal due to their double cup winning season of 93, the fa cup replay being played on my then girlfriends birthday. 20th may. Obvious reasons why for the double cup win I guess.

Real Oviedo bought shares in them when they were going under. Great club with a good history but are currently underachieving (like united).

If you haven't heard/seen the story it's worth looking up on YouTube!

Udinese. They have had some real quality players:
Zico, Alexis Sanchez, Oliver Bierhoff, Abel Balbo, Franco Causio and Di Natale among them.
They play in stripes and underachieve because they are a selling club, what's not to like?.

I go watch Tampa Bay Rowdies play from time to time, does that count?

Central coast mariners. Obviously the Monty link helps. When I was in Australia I went to 7/8 of their games, which is about quarter of their season.

1st- Sheffield United
2nd- Sheffield United
3rd- Sheffield United
I could go on! There was no choice for me, I'm red and white and that's it.
I support the club I've always supported, in my eyes(MY OPINION ONLY! NO NEED FOR HIGH HORSES!) if you need to follow another club, then obviously your not happy with your own, or first choice.

Strange thread!?

Only other team I actively support is Belper Sports Red Socks under 15's.
If you think we've been bad for the last few years you ain't seen nothing.
Although.....I have been advised by son and heir I may have to change my allegiance to Little Eaton next season.

Don't think so tbh. Most footy fans have a bit of a soft spot for teams who aren't a direct rival and would like to see put one over someone they dislike.

For instance last season I was rooting for Leicester to shove it up the so called big clubs.
