Losing on penalties this week got me thinking, who would I definitely want stepping up in a Playoff Final and more importantly, who I definitely DIDN'T want to step up.

My preferred lineup - in this order:
1. Hourihane - get us off the mark, a steady head
2. Berge - reckon would take a good pen
3. Sharp - no explanation required
4. Fleck - only if it's John Fleck not Jimmy
5. McGoldrick - still have flashbacks of that miss v Wednesday but he should bring it home...

Absolute no no's:
Brewster - the kid is doomed for us
McBurnie - missed 2 now i think?
Norwood - remember him missing on his debut, but maybe i'm being harsh
Burke - please god no
Mousset - would probably attempt a panenka and fail miserably

Norwoods was by far the best penalty on Tuesday. Definitely in front of Fleck.

I don't know why but I'm never confident when Sharp takes a penalty even though he is obviously a legend.

I'd have Osborn in there (I seem to remember his penalty in the shootout with Burnley last season was a cracker as well) and Norwood's record has been pretty good when he's taken them in all honesty.

I'd reckon Gibbs-White would be confident enough. Guedioura maybe??

Brewster has scored them in the past for England but didn't he miss one for Liverpool in the Community Shield shootout last season?

Norwood has a good record. Mousse is always calm in front of goal, if we place a Pukka Pie add, behind the top right hand corner, sure he will nail it. McGoldricks pens were excellant, until that shocker of all shockers against the Pork.

Found myself struggling after the 5th spot, not sure any of the defence would fill me with any confidence, Bogel maybe?

When it went to pens the other night I was thinking who I'd have had from that line up. Certainly wouldn't have had McBurnie or Brewster. Felt the same with Brewster as I did when Mbappe took that one against the Swiss in the Euros, in that he'd got no confidence, his body language wasn't right and you just knew he'd miss.

My 5 would have been from Tuesday :

1. Norwood
2. Osborn
3. Fleck
4. Stevens
5. Bogle

From the squad I'd add :

Sharp
Berge
McGoldrick
Hourihane

Berge would probably get injured in the walk up, having hamstrings with the make up of soggy ryvita.
Mousse would be perfect if the shootout was prior to kick off, held in a macdonalds drivethru.
Likewise, Ndiaye needs a pre match shootout so that he can take part before he pulls something or hobbles off
Freeman requires a stepover before striking the ball tamely to the keepers arms
Baldock would be perfect shooting into an empty kop as there would be minimal damage done in case of a wayward shot. 50/50 chance of it rattling the back of the net or the back of the kop

Norwood, Egan, MGW, Sharp, Stevens (don't like left footers on pens usually)

Best combinations of ball striking/mental strength

What would your all time penalty line up be, Whitehouse and Eddy would be up there but who else

My preferred penalty line up is not going to them. Or bring Baxter and Porter back for them.

Who was the one who slowly walked up and waited til the keeper moved then slotted it in the other side, used to scare the shit out of me

I think there is an argument to say Norwood should be our penalty taker. Think he was the pen taker at Reading with a 100% record and has scored 4 out of 5 for us

Mousset- can you run up holding a slice of Dominoes??

I was in Majorca earlier this year at the same time as Kelly Brook. Potentially I could.

Mcburnie has missed 2 for us but he did score what I think was the deciding pen for Scotland v Serbia, under what must have been extreme pressure in Belgrade. Maybe he didn't feel pressured cos he doesn't really care about Scotland. Or maybe he just hates the carabao cup.

Cheers roy, nick blackman, cant remember him missing for us or after us either, didnt he scare you though

1. Sharp
2. Osborn
3. Norwood
4. Hourihane
5. Berge

All 5 are good strikers of the ball. Plus the right, left combination is a pain for keepers. Osborn has taken two excellent penalties in shootouts.

Absolutely wouldn't have McGoldrick, he seldom strikes the ball cleanly, same McBurnie. Norwood is an excellent penalty taker. He was unlucky to miss his first.

..and fuck knows where he is now, and he must be over 70, but sign-up Johan Neeskens (ask your Dad) to be on the bench in case of a shout out. Net was ripping before the goalie realised he'd taken it.

Sharp is partly to blame for the 0-0 against the pigs the other year. He missed a few weeks before so Didzy was on penalty duty. I don't forget easily.

With Brewster it took him ages walking to the penalty area and that run up took him ages too. I am not a psychologist or anything but for me surely the longer you have to think about it the more chance of missing?
