There are loads but i remember watching some great games through the years.

Forest match in 1990 was in December..now a great game around end of Jan 2002..Darren?...was United 4 Portsmouth 3, a Furlong penalty in last seconds won it..Monty even scored..a Simon Tracey comic cuts episode there in truth, with him heading a clearance out then conceding a goal..Crouch scored for them in 3rd min....

I think we were on four points from sixteen with no wins up until the Forest game. Couldn't tell you who the four draws were against, but Derby and Villa spring to mind.

We were on 4 points from 16 matches. We had drawn with Derby, Manchester City, Chelsea and Everton.

The 3-1 at Hillsborough (Boby and Dane) was the best atmosphere I have experienced at a football match (and I have been at the San Siro on a big Champions League night and the Nou Camp to see Barça clinch a leage title). It was just electric. For sheer stranger hugging mentalness, only the win v Leeds in the Worthington Cup come close, but that night at the sty will live long in the memory.

Man Utd 2 Sheff Utd 0 – 1971

With us top of the league and Man U second, there was tremendous interest in this match. The gates closed at 1.45pm and the Blades fans were crammed into the old Railway End terrace. Amazing atmosphere.

Yes we lost but it was a fine performance from the Blades and it took a wonder goal from Best (the one that they showed at the start of Match of the Day for years afterwards, regularly voted one of best goals of all time).

My parents lived near Manchester and in the pub that night Man Utd fans were saying Currie was the best player on the pitch. I have never felt so proud of the team from that day to this.

And we were still top of the league!

Disgusting challenge from rush , would have got 10 yrs for that nowadays .remember as a lad asking my dad and other older blades how hed got away with it , they just shrugged their shoulders and muttered about liverpool being a big club .the commentators and press reporters all just said the ball was theyre to be won

Wasn't it 3-0 against Newcastle in the League Cup? Great night any road.

The 2-2 at Wolves (when their ground was half in darkness, being rebuilt) and we were all on their bloody enormous old Kop, both sets of fans) was memorable for me as first time I heard Greasy Chip Butty Song and first time I saw Bassett's corner routine, when Agana received the ball, ran towards penalty area, then backheeled, creating confusion and mayhem in the hapless Wolves defence.

FA cup win against Man U.
3-1 at swillsborough and singing we beat the scum 5-1.
Deano scoring from the halfway line against Liverpool.
Stuffing Leicester to get promoted.

Yep all the old ones. football seemed better in those days. im an old fart, im allowed.
Somebody, for the love of jebus, bring back deano, hodges and whitehouse.
If they were alive today, and they are, theyd be turning in their graves watching these mugs we have now.

By the way, shame you put "games from the past", cos i was gonna put the one from the future where we beat Real Madrid 8-0 in the Champions League Final. Cracking game that. Would have brought back a dvd of it, but it was only available on laser brain video and i dont have the implant so wouldn't be able to watch it anyway.

The eight goal second half against Cardiff was pretty special. Ndlovu scored a hat-trick (two penalties and a Barnes Wallis style long ranger), Tonge scored a free kick and Jack Lester scored a beautiful lob and volley. Richard Langley scored a free kick for Cardiff and I think Robbie Earnshaw got the other two.

Storming back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at Watford in our promotion year was superb, too. Henderson got both their goals, bullying poor Bromby, then Jags (I think) Ifill and a Clarke Carlisle own goal gave us the win.

Cracking game all apart from the result and although Best's goal was a bit special I still reckon he wouldn't have got it if Hemsley had still been on the pitch. Went off injured after keeping Best pretty quiet, Reece to stand-in fullback and the rest is history.
Back in Manchester the following week at Maine Road and City were all over us. Big John Hope had a blinder and kept us in it until about the 60th minute I think and we all thought after they scored that the flood gates would open but within a couple of minutes Billy Deardon headed the equaliser from a breakaway. City hammered us all over again and did get the winner about 10 minutes from time I think.

I remember we beat Liverpool 1-0 and Adrian littlejohn scored the winner, I also remember the spurs 6-0 win and we beat Birmingham by the same score some yrs later. Beating Manure 2-1 in the cup was great aswell.
