Same as the full back poll. Select your favourite from the following, expecting it to be pretty unanimous if I'm honest:

Phil Jagielka - not much needs to be said, ran out of superlatives. 40 England caps since he left us, utter class.
Chris Morgan - a rock at the back in the second division but never quite looked comfortable in the prem. Gave his all nonetheless.
Claude Davis - bambi on ice one day, a rock the next. Did well to sell him to derby for the same price we paid though! Some character, held a knife to Akinbiyi's throat didn't he?
David Someil - less said the better. Didn't do anything of note, intact I can't even remember him
Chris Lucketti - a handful of appearances, I'm doubting he gets a vote...
Mamadou Seck - the best defender we never saw

Not including Kilgallon as he only played full back that season if I remember rightly

Who's your favourite?
Centre mid's next up...

Ah, but were it not for that Tevez!!!

Tevez was always a smokescreen of sour grapes.

The entire season came down to one match. All we had to do was concede the same amount or fewer goals than Wigan.

We bottled it big time like every other big match I've ever seen us play in.

Would've been Jags had he not forgot that he can only handle the ball in the area if he takes the gloves from a sent off keeper first.

Wigan at home, that was very, very Sheff Utd of us. I don't know why I expected any different. However, I don't buy into the theory that we'd still be there a la Stoke etc. With McCabe at the helm it was always going to end badly one way or another.

Morgan gets my vote. All heart and glory, 100% every single match, a man that squeezed every ounce of potential he had (and then some) to reach the level he did. He made mistakes, but never hid from anything. Legend.

Danny fucked up

Agree with most of what you say there morganselbow, the winner has to be Morgan, Jags only there so it's a real competition.
McCabe brought it up again at the fans forum that had it not been for the Tevez affair we'd have cemented our place in the prem. As much as what west ham did was wrong and should have resulted in a points deduction we would almost certainly have been relegated the following season but definitely sooner or later. I don't know how he can make the statement with what has happened to the club since we left the prem.

Sarcasm detector batteries run out?

We weren't relegated because of our defence. We were relegated because Warnock was afraid to attack teams away from home.

Yep. For me this will always be the no.1 reason we went down. We didn't pick enough points up away from home because we didn't go after teams on the road. Doing so may only have won us another 4 or 5 points but they would have been crucial.

I knew he was intimidated by our opposition before the season started having seen that we had narrowed our own pitch. That team was good enough to stay up, it just wasn't given a chance to.

You would have to say Jags but for the handball that got us relegated, for that reason I will always view him as a cunt and vote Morgan.

Gayle, Beesley, Pemberton, McLeary, Wirmola, Tuttle and Hoyland have played in CB in the Premier for us too!

Spot on.
We probably could have pinched another dozen points.
That's when I have to agree with a certain poster on here Warnock was out of his depth in the Premier

Warnock should have been fucked off the day we gained promotion to the Prem and he was driving about on a fucking tractor.

We should also have got rid of that splay footed twat Mongy.

If we'd have replaced them with a Premier League manager and a premier league midfielder we'd have gained more points and quite possibly our history would be completely different and we wouldn't be facing our 6th fucking year in this depressing league :-(

Brutal but true.
