Wot no Knill?
Bizarrely I went for Matt Done. He always tries hard as a footballer, appears unselfish and whips himself after making mistakes, it's not really his fault if he has limitations and is picked to play in the team. He appeared to be willing to play in whatever role Chris Wilder used him for and when substituted always appeared to accept ( as he should) the decision professionally. He presumably realised that he wasn't up to Championship level but always gave his all for the team.
He's probably a mardy wazzock and moaned like f***.
Anyway I voted for him
If this isn't a WUM, I admire your bravery! Hope you've got your tin hat on.
Incidentally, I really like Doney too.
No physicality, a bit lightweight, a bit slow, can't tackle, seems to be partially unfit especiallly towards the end of games
BUT my personal favourite is easily Mark Duffy. Always looking to control the ball, low centre of gravity, dribbles past players with ease (which shows his skill when he's so slow), always looking to create things.
A really fine quality player who is a joy to watch. Where has he been hiding all these years?
Earlier in the season (December time) I was in the Westfield corner stand sat next to a Chinese student. It was his 1st year in the country, he told me he supported Beijing Guon and loved football, so decided to come to BL. He told me he comes to every home match and his favourite player was Mark Duffy, said he's our best player. He also said he was impressed with SU and said that we were possibility a little better then the best sides in China.
To be fair I didn't realise there were any Chinese students in Sheffield
He told me there are loads of students from China at the Sheffield University.
He said they come over to learn the English language whilst studying.
Surprised about that. They're not very visible on the streets of Sheffield are they ?
I suppose it depends what "loads" actually means.
Doubt there's 1000's of Chinese students so that they are clearly visible and noticed in the city.
But it wouldn't be surprised if there's, say 200 to 300 students recently arrived from China.
A few months ago, one lunchtime in the week I saw a group of 30 young Chinese people at the bottom of Netherthorpe Road at Shalesmoor walking towards the newly built student accomodation flats.
Bash!
