96-97 or 97-99 (both wards ones). I like it when we have a bit of black on the shirts as it makes us stand out form all the other teams who play in red & white stripes

1992-94, closely followed by 1996-97.

Recently it' s the Vas Borbokis 97-99 kit. But I wish we'd go back to a traditional 73-75 style with black shorts and WHITE SOCKS.

We look like Sheffield United when we play in black shorts and white socks, and we've hardly ever worn them as an official kit in my lifetime.

This was the first ever replica kit I had when I was a nipper, so it wins for nostalgic reasons. Whenever someone in our class had a birthday, we'd all go to Dronfield Leisure Center and play indoor football in our kits before having a swim (presumably to clean us up on the sly), followed up with jelly and ice cream in the cafe. And to be quite honest, I still can't think of a better way to spend a day 25 years on.

My favourite was the 2000/02 home shirt.

It was a plain red and white striped shirt with a black collar, the stripes hadn't been messed around with, there was no stupid designs on it, and it was a smart functional kit.

The worst one was the 1995/96 diamond shirt.

1992-1994 I actually own David Barnes shirt from this season we won it in a raffle when my old man used to take me to sit in the family enclosure. I wish I hadn't worn it as years of modelling (not cat walk) took its toll.

i voted for the 92/94 purely because of the fact thats the shirt i got from deano
but out of them all it has to be the hobott 79/81 shirt and that was because i associate that shirt with probably the best pure footballer ever to pull on a Blades shirt, Alex Sabella

I went for 96/97. Classic, simple and elegant.

That kit and the 'blades' one preceding it were truly awful kits that symbolised exactly what a shower of shite we were at that point in our history.

I loved the Desun Kit, we wore it in arguably our most impressive season of the last 20 years, bar the promotion, with the FA cup and League Cup Semi-Finals.

96/97 by a country mile but I agree wholeheartedly with SEB. Best kit of all time is 73-75.

Agree re: 73-75. The only thing i didn't like about the 96/97 shirt was the shield logo!

Of this lot, 1992-94 but my all time favourite is 1904-06. Worst ever is easily 1979-81

92-94 for me. Really like the shirt and the silly laces. Closely followed by the 90-92 kit which I like for it's retro aspect.

I used to really love the purple and yellow away shirt (95-96?) also. I had one with Paul Rogers eek on the back, but lost it over the years.

Interestingly enough Olle, the first Blades shirt I ever had (not had one for years as it goes) was an away one. This Admiral number from the mid-70s :




But if you're talking about the best away kit we've had. I'd plump for this Admiral number a couple of seasons later. Just looked the business for me...and no need for a sodding third kit:

I started watchign United in 1993, so would have missed the one's you are talking about.

I've got the last few seasons shirts (mainly because my mum keeps buying them me for my birthday) but I am one of those wankers who tries to be trendy and wears the retro shirt (second attachment) to games!?
