I don't see the problem, you want to bring in a player from Europe, you buy a rubber Dingy............
A good chance to remind everyone that, at our Club, it's Refugees Welcome.
Kler Heh played in our Academy System up until 2015. Kler was born in a Refugee Camp in Thailand near the Myanmar Border to parents of the Karen Ethnic Group. He came to Sheffield under the UK's Gateway Protection Programme in 2006. Unfortunately, he didn't make it at The Lane. But, he played professionally for a Lithuanian team. Naturally - Refugees Welcome.....

Didn't Hecky also reveal that he wouldn't be let go until we had a replacement in?

Hecky wanted him to stay until he had someone else in the building. Yet Roma and the player wanted him to move and he has in fact moved and a replacement has yet to arrive.

Doesn't exactly disprove Darren's point. Actions speaking louder than words and all that...
He/they also wanted it to happen since the start of the window and it took until this point to happen. Why would that be?
It happened when it became “too difficult”, in Hecky’s words, for it not to happen

Do you remember that time when Beattie had flu? 😏 Not everything the club says live in Press Conferences proves to be gospel.

It is quite plausible that it became too difficult because once Hecky reviewed the details he realised United were powerless to prevent it if 2/3 parties wished to end it. There’s every chance Heckingbottom didn’t know the ins and out of his contract at the time he was asked. It’s understandable. He was U23 Manager at that time of his signing.

I’m not suggesting these things don’t take time to resolve. Villa would have still needed time to negotiate with Roma and Olsen’s representatives and he wasn’t their only option; they were also reportedly considering Simon Moore and Villa were prioritising Coutinho at the start of the window. Coutinho wanted to come. These things take time. Most deals take place at the back end of the window as you know.

Based on what’s out there you can still conclude Darren was right without suggesting Hecky was stating anything other than what he believed to be true at the time. All about opinions 👍

This whole foreign signings lark is ridiculous. Sure, they have to be the right signings, but it's 2022 and the leagues are full of foreign signings!
if i remember rightly i think the story was he worry they would down tools in relegation battle.
