He’s more athletic and mobile than Souza from what I’ve seen of him.

He can be a bit erratic but overall seems a steady all round kind of midfielder

I wouldn't describe him as a defensive midfielder. He can play deeper but I'd say he's naturally more of an 8 than a 6.

So in short, if he’s playing deeper he breaks up attacks but plays on the turn and looks to break lines (which Selles apparently plays), rather than a midfielder destroyer who sits deeper protecting the back four (which Selles doesn’t play)?

Sounds about right. He’s played more advanced for us at times too, to decent effect. He’s a tidy all-round midfielder
