There have been rumours that the deals are linked with Squinny going the other way in January but I can't see it happening on a permanent basis. Holloway is still saying that he rates them both and whilst financially, there probably wouldn't be much difference in a swap given the wages, I doubt we could afford the difference, even if Blackpool and the players were up for it which is a doubt.

BUT if the Blackpool lads are being more of a difference than Quinn then I would swap. Phillips is not far from being our top scorer after 4 games for us and I bet Clarke has more assists than just about anyone. Really like Clarke he brings a whole new dimension to our play

I think Clarke is the better player and would like him at United. Phillips didn't impress me at all last night even though he scored. Had a very ordinary game IMO. On the other hand Clarke MOM. Good litttle player/

Absolutely cannot see any deal happening. Holloway will be relishing the deal finishing, so that he can use them in his squad!

It may have been paper talk but from what I could make out it sounded like Holloway rated Phillips but wanted him to get some confidence in his own ability back. Just sounded like he lost his way a bit and hasn't been producing what Holloway thought he was capable of, hence the lack of games.

Holloway has a similar trait to Warnock in that he likes to use his entire squad.

I get the impression he sees them as young improving players.

Rumours around here again today that it could be Clarke for Squinny in January. Bearing in mind they bid for Squinny on deadline day and Clarke's contract is up in the Summer, it could well be a goer. Clarke has been quoted as saying that dropping a division wouldn't concern him.

Phillips is a strange one as they've got Ince on loan for the season who has been playing on the right and they've brought in McManaman from Wigan who plays in a similar position to Phillips.

The fact that Holloway has been to see them play for us suggests that he's either just monitoring them or wants to finally make his mind up whether they have a future at Blackpool or not. I still don't think we could afford a deal for both, even throwing Squinny into the mix but I don't think we'll see the last of them both when the 28 days runs out.

There is no way Ollie would let either of them go, he is a good manager and knows class, which they both have and speed, and we will be back to square one with not much class and no speed imo, sad to say it but i think it's true.
