Would you start Morrison on Saturday ?

I wouldn't start Ravel yet. I think we need to allow a lot more time & put him under a lot less pressure. For now, bring him on when we need something special & just allow him to go out & express himself with a bit of a free license.

As he gains match fitness & better familiarity with the other players & our system, then we can start to ask a little bit more of him. We need to be really patient with this one & special treatment is required in order to nurture his talent.

Lundstram will be a liability. Morrison was at a low team because of his attitude, not lack of skill or talent.

Moose, no. He's not match fit. But later, my attack lineup would be Moose, Robinson and Morrison in AM position. That pace would cause nightmares.

No place for our record signing?

This odd idea that we are going to leave tens of millions of pounds permanently on the bench is very S2. Wilder will pick the players he thinks best for any particular game. I suspect he paid unprecedented sums for a number of players because he thought they were better than what he’s got. If I were one of the owners I’d be startled if we have the most expensive development team in history.

Some of us need to get real and let go...

It's a selection dilemma lol. But a good one. For me, I think I'd go with the pacier option though. Three speedy attackers will be difficult for any defence to cope with.

Although, Moose may be a good bench option for the same reason. Come on with 20 minutes to go, run at tired defenders.

Guess CW has a lot of options.

Well he has but he’s going to play our all time record transfer fee player, that’s for sure.

When the team settles down, Moose and Oli will be the front two, with Robinson free-roaming behind them. It may sound simplistic but he hasn’t spent a small fortune on players he sees as back-up. We’d rightly be astonished and disappointed if he had.

That’s an obvious application of common sense. It seems to be flying out of the window in S2 at the moment, where we are saying in one breath ‘fantastic transfer window, best ever’ and similar such remarks, then in the next condemning the product of that transfer window to the reserves.

I know I should be used to it by now but sometimes I despair at just how daft our fans can get.

Big call to go three forwards, I want us to be positive but that may be a bit much.

I would go Robinson and Mcburnie up top with Freeman in behind.

However I think CW will go Mcgoldrick and Robinson up top with the three of Lunny, Fleck and Norwood in midfield.

My thoughts exactly

People aren’t seeing Morrison coming deep and playing box to box I don’t think. Yes he is more than talented at the number 10 but I think long term we’re looking at a midfield 3 of Norwood, Fleck, Morrison and all 3 give a fantastic balance and a multitude of options.

I personally hope we line up 3-5-1-1

Henderson
Jagielka Egan O’Connell
Baldock Morrison fleck Norwood Stevens
Freeman
Robinson

On the football ramble podcast, Will Hughes has just named our Ravel as the best player he’s ever played with and the most naturally gifted footballer he has seen...That’s another one to add to his list.
I’m starting to believe Wilder has pulled yet another bunny out of his bottomless hat.

If he’s fit and deemed better than anyone else in his position he should start. Presumably Wilder thinks the possibility of him getting a monk on is remote enough to offer him a contract.

I think it's highly unlikely he'll start games to begin with. I would use him as an impact sub and see how it goes.

Yes. Good enough football brain and passing range. Will appear to take risks but won't lose possession much. Added bonus of his ability to do something special.
That’s what I thought. I can see it happening after the first few games as well.

Straw men again. This thread is about Saturday, I don’t think anyone is suggesting our new signings will be permanently on the bench. I think we all know that if things go to plan our strike force will end up being two from McBurnie, Mousset and Robinson. It’s simply a question of whether we play them on Saturday, when McBurnie has only just joined us and may be still learning our system and Mousset may not be fully match fit.

anyone that ever played with him or coached him and anyone that properly watched him will tell you the same thing. His talents are not made up as you get with a lot of "young superstars", he really is in elite tier and if things turned out differently he would now be on top of the world alongside the likes of Hazard, De Bruyne etc.
Reaching those heights are probably long gone but he can still make it as a damn good PL player. It tells you enough that most Man United fans that watched him at youth level would take a chance with him even in today state after forgettable career so far since he left the club.

I think Saturdays starting eleven won't be so far removed from the last one
The new players will probably have to work their way in and I get the impression that Morrison and mousset are still building match fitness

Think Robinson will start probably alongside sharp and didsy
