Worst penalty decision ever

That Cantona goal was a simple chip, I thought it was massively overrated at the time and still do watching it again.

The Bruce foul on Blake (who is rightly maligned for his attitude to the Blades fans since leaving more than his mediocre performances as a player) should have been a penalty, but not really from behind by the thighs.

Thanks for that. Funny how your memory plays tricks with you and Bruce's tackle was, as you say, not as I remembered it.

Still a blatant penalty though and I still feel that if Charlie hadn't reacted to Cantona's sly kick we could have beaten them that day. We were much the better team before it happened.

That Manure side was as close as it gets to the Dirty Leeds side from the 70's, always prepared to dish it out but just as willing to moan and scream at the ref if anybody gave them a bit back.

Another one. Crewe at home on a snowy Tuesday evening in our promotion season (around Feb 06). Ade Akinbiyi bearing down on goal, the Crewe defender pretty much jumps on his back. Ade carries him about 10 yards trying to get to the ball to score, doesn’t go down. No penalty given. Horrific decision and an example of referees encouraging players to be cheating diving twats by not giving the correct decision when the player is honest.

That's the coldestvI've ever been at the lane - it was about minus 10!

Not read all thread but no doubt the Liverpool Gerrard (cheating bastard) injury time penalty at BDTBL was the worst decision ever handing them a draw and us religation.

May 2nd 1981. THAT match.

But not the penalty awarded to Walsall.

The one awarded to us was the worst decision ever by a referee. Not because it was never a penalty (although in truth it probably wasn't), but because by awarding it the referee gave us that cruel glimpse of salvation only for it to be thrown away by our unerring ability to snatch agonising disaster from the jaws of certain safety.

That penalty award made our defeat and subsequent relegation much more difficult to take.
Giving him the ball was the worst decision, but hey-ho gave me one of the best seasons ever the following year, till last season :D:D

I recall the one Argentina got in WC 98 vs England in St Etienne, followed by an equally dodgy one for England in the same game.
The ref was a Dane who seemed to have it in for us from the ko
