Worst league performance under Wilder?

Got to be Southend for me . It was the last time I sat in the lane hating just about every second of being there .. and it felt just like under Adkins, Clough and Wilson etc etc etc.
Little did I know we where just giving the rest of the league a chance!

Any of the League Cup games. Even if that was only to achieve our key objective of getting knocked out.

Fleetwood at home was probably the worst league performance.

Friday night match, live on Sky. I had all my mates round and told them all about how brilliant we were. They all bet on us to win

I was so close to going home when that Southend 3rd goal went in after about 20 minutes. Wasn’t particularly doubting wilder at that early point but sat there thinking how much worse can this get after watching utter dross for the couple of years previous

Southend is the lowest I can remember feeling. The reality that the club may have been damaged beyond repair. Bit too early to be considered a Wilder team.

Southend for sure. Travelled over and brought a mate who had never been before. Performance was horrendous yet my mate was instantly impressed. He was astounded by the loyalty and passion of the fan base and the stature of the club within its local community. He has been back over with me 3 times since, buying his grandkids blades shirts etc. Incredible how he was smitten on such a disappointing evening.

Yes the Southend feeling was gut wrenching. I ended up staying until the end against my initial better judgement and the 2nd half was halfway decent in perspective, thanks to the half time introduction of s certain mr coutts into the middle of the park

If anyone then would have told me we would be where we are now 3 years later then I would have requested that they be sectioned

That was the game where I posted on Shoutbox after that I thought we played OK and there were hopeful signs. We were a Leon missed header away from a point.

LS26BLADE accused me of being on drugs I feel that 100 point season suggests I was amongst the first to spot the potential.

it certainly wasn’t anywhere near a memorably bad performance.

I've gone Hull. Despite being pretty drunk by the time I got to the ground, I still found the game to be poor. I remember we went in to the game with high expectations (Hull had been on a very poor run and were looking likely at going down).

Contract this to Southend, where it was still very early days and there was still work to be done (clearly) and the Middlesborough game which was against a good side (on paper) and early in the season.

Hull for me was the worst performance. Remember Leonard and Evans in particular just could not find a Blades shirt. Players looked like they couldn’t be arsed, the only time that’s happened under Wilder in a league game.

I wasn't that concerned about Southend - whenever you're that many down (or up) it's usually one organisational problem which is easy to fix.

Agree....I went to that Southend game too. At the time it felt like a disaster but walking back to the car I realised it was a fluke result with the performance not being that bad. They basically scored from their first 3 attacks.

They first goal was an own goal by Jack O’Connell after 3 minutes.....what a bad start.
Then they scored on 13 minutes and again on 15 minutes, think one or two were goal keeping errors by Long, who seemed really nervous.
The remaining 75 minutes we weren’t that bad and were comfortably the better team....altho Southend might say they just sat back protecting their lead.

Tend to agree with Mojo, Walsall 4-1 was an unexpected kick in the nuts, but Walsall did seem to have the measure of us ( and some luck, particularly the home league game) every time we played them that season. Hull was bad too, team strangely not up for it when the play offs were still a possibility.

Sat in a pub with some random Hull fan who was condescending about us all night which is why I’ve gone for that. Southend was a bit of a continuation of the previous season so I’d already become a bit immune at that stage

The worst one I attended was the 0.1 at Preston in the Champ b4 Xmas. But that was coloured by the fact that it was bloody freezing and I walked in the wrong direction in the rain after the game in the rain meaning it took me nearly an hour to walk back to Preston station. I don't think we had a shot on goal. But it's those memories that makes current ones so rewarding.

Great shout. Was a decent day out until the football. Remember we had Lafferty, Carruthers and Slater in midfield at one point that day. Shite.

Just thought, that Millwall game where we lost 3-1 was pretty shite too but the truly woeful performances are few and far between thankfully.

Don't get to take my lads that often so getting tickets for this one and being close for us was great to take them. So this is one I have voted for. My other choice was going to be Bolton at BDTBL.
