I see they have changed everything up again? The game is now played on Sunday 9th January at 2:00pm, but to make things more complex...the to rescheduling of latter rounds, this tie now has to be decided on the day.

So drawing at full-time will mean extra time and penalties, no bringing them back to Bramall Lane.

Considering everything that's going on in the UK, seems a reasonable solution for now

I'd say that makes it more simple rather than more complex. Good decision.

FA Cup been ruined long before now, doesn’t really mean much any more. Except maybe a bit of extra cash for teams that won’t progress far. If it cuts the farrago short, then all good for me.
I think back to when I was a kid, and FA cup final day seemed huge, no idea if it's old age and just being around longer to see Cup Finals, and odd really as you can blame TV and over exposure etc but in the early 70s the TV both BBC and ITV covered it in even greater derail, starting in the morning, highlights of both teams matched to get to the final, interviews with the players, live coverage of the teams leaving their hotels en route to Wembley, never missed a minute,,now it just doesn't feel so special anymore

... Stan Boardman or Jimmy Tarbuck relaxing the troops on the team buses.

Sensible option with so many postponements.

I have a feeling it wont matter that much by then as not sure there will be crowds allowed negating much home advantage. Wales already gone that way and Scotland to do the same later apparently so would not be shocked if England follows suit next few days.
All games should be postponed if fans not allowed.
Or let us who want to get on with life attend.

excuse me as this is part sheff utd part general football but i think, replays should be scrapped permanently or have a rule that if both teams want it finish on the day it can be because in most cases, the last thing both teams want is a replay. didnt someone in the 2nd round say id rather lose than draw

in the other few cases, i think it actually hinders the underdog & you would get more shocks on the day than you would normally. of the last 36 FA Cup replays with underdogs playing Premier league opposition the Premier League side has won 32. i would use rochdale v spurs few years ago. but they had far more chance at 2-2 if that went to ET & pens. instead they lost the replay 6-1 & confidence blow wouldve been massive.

to quell the money blow they should skim the money off the top & give to the 1st 4 rounds. because 3.5m to man city is nothing but 360,000 to league 2 side is everything

Any word on how we can watch it yet ? International channel ? Last year it was on the fa online player, are they still doing that ?

For me personally especially with how we are going to be congested with fixtures. Definitely need to rest vast majority, look at 8+ changes and not look to win. I would rather we have the opportunity of an open weekend on round 4 (potential for rearranged fixture there) plus we wouldn't have as many backlogged fixtures.

My main problem with the F.A. Cup is the fact Premier League teams automatically have a head start.

If they truly are better teams, then surely they should prove that by starting in round 1 proper, as with all the clubs in the professional leagues (tiers 1-4). Obviously still have your preliminary rounds for non league.

Read passage below as a political statement.
We need to get rid of the EFL cup... save on fixture congestion and bring some magic back to the F.A. cup!
