Probably the first time i've actually sighed at the fact there was going to be 5 minutes of extra time and truthfully would probably prefer that we lost rather than gained a point.

The team is comical at the moment, it just isn't working whatsoever, the crowds will continue to dwindle and under the current management we're not going to do much better than this.

I do have sympathy for Blackwell and maybe in other professions he wouldn't lose his job but football is a fickle game where a change of manager can breath fresh life into a club and into the players and suddenly the same XI who look so puzzled and stifled one week can look something like a football team the next.

Ideal time to change manager now, it'll give the new manager six or seven games to assess the squad (or I can do it for him, keep Kenny, Morgan, Monty, Yeates, Cresswell, Williamson, Evans, Ward and Henderson) and the whole summer to sign players and get a system going.

If not, another 12 months of this will see the attendances around the 16,000 regardless of what fun time Gary announces.

My Dad said after the injury during those five minutes "I bet he doesn't add that time on!"

To which I replied "And if we're really unlucky, he will."

I wanted us to score twice and win!

Yes, of course, I was talking more in added time, although i'd have taken a defeat rather than a win if it meant a change in manager.

When they announced the added time, no thought that it may give us chance to equalise, as I just never expect that to happen any more, just annoyed it delayed getting to the pub to at least give some reason for the drive up. Today was woeful (and frigging cold too!). The defence is shambolic, most of the team is going backwards, the only players who at least looked like they gave a damn were Cresswell, Monty and (when he came on) Little. Enjoyed the steak and ale pie and pint of Landlord in the Prince of Wales today, but after getting up at what felt like the crack of dawn (6am old-time) and driving 3 hours, I'd have happily left the ground at half-time and gone straight for the pub lunch. Confirmed it for me - no ST next season.

You nesh fairy.

Reckon I'll be in a minority of one, but I really thought we weren't as bad as folk on here are making out. We've certainly been worse than that and got better results this year.

Yes, we probably have been worse, but how many more times have we got to put up with pub-style football like that? How many home games have actually been enjoyable this season?

Yesterday was NOT a blip, a minor abberation. It was the norm. At least earlier in the season we picked up enough points against the lower teams to keep us up this year. Now we're losing to those teams as well. (Peterbro, Scunny...Wednesday?)

Make no mistake, we're going down next year unless McCabe sees sense and gets rid of Blackwell and that other useless article, Sam Ellis.

We played some decent stuff in the first half and seemed nailed on to go in front. Switching Quinn and Yeates when Quinn was having so much joy down the left was strange. After Nosworthy's error and the Scunny goal, it fell apart until Little came on.

The fact it was an absolute must win game and we looked lethargic for most of the 2nd half was the most worrying thing for me.

I agree we're in genuine danger of struggling next year, but I also think appointing the wrong manager could be genuinely disastrous and make this season look like a glory parade.

I wouldn't be crying if Blackwell went, but people need to understand the depth of our problems, and the fact that they go beyond the manager alone.

But isn't that more of an indictment of the teams in this division than our own performances?

I can't put forward a view of the game as I wasn't there, but it was interesting hearing the views from Radio Humberside. The question was put by the commentator late on if the Blades team were good enough for a club of it's stature, and the summariser George Kerr (ex-Grimsby manager) response was, "Not even close".

There was also a lot made of the Lane crowd's reputation for getting on the teams back. Kerr was said the same was the case in the early 80's too, keep the team quiet and frustrate them and the crowd will turn on them.

You could actually understand what George Kerr was saying???
