Bring Lopata back as back up to Goode and move Bash or JLT to wing back
Osborn should hopefully be fit within 2/3 weeks

It seems we're taking every precaution now because of the JOC injury and potential ramifications of being accused of not looking after potential injuries properly. Its tye right thing to do, but also feels like we're not willing to take any risks at all

Robinson played wingback in one of his first games for us, did alright, having to play either him or Davies at wing back might encourage them to do a bit more attacking from centre back in future so it might even end up being a positive, although at this rate O'Connell will be our fittest defender by Easter.

Andre Wisdom is without a club and might do a job until the end of the season?

Either that or it's just time for the young uns to step up!

Que sera, on we go

RWB’s in the 23’s

Seriki - rapid looked a great talent last year but he’s a shell of himself right now the Beerschot loan has set him back.

Starbuck - looks solid but not spectacular and I’m not sure he has the look of a player ready to step up to first team level

Gordon - never played the position before but has the physique to play there but it’d take a big adaptation to play there at championship level

LWB’s in the 23’s

Boyes (on loan) - looks solid but not spectacular slightly better than Starbuck but still not someone knocking on the door to step up

Capello - been playing there lately for the 23’s but he’s a makeshift left wing back nice little player plenty of skill but would get mullered defensively.

Buyabu - Not played that much looked exciting when he’s played but he’s not in the side consistently maybe injured

Buyabu was back in the U23s for the last game. I didn't see it all but did see some of Seriki's surging runs. Seriki is still only 18 years old but is such an exciting player.

Seriki has excelled in the U23s, made a first team appearance, gone out on loan and Heckingbottom spoke in January about wanting to get him back up to full fitness. Everything suggests he's in the manager's thoughts and ready to make a step up, regardless of how the loan spell went. Would rather see him given a chance on Wednesday than sticking Basham there (for example), as much as I love the guy. Asking him to be a rampaging wing-back might be one step too far.

It IS a step too far nevermind might be. Let’s see what Seriki is all about, god knows we need him now.

Saw Seriki play in two matches subsequent to his return from Belgium and at that stage he was light years away from being ready for the first team.
fast and ability to get beyond people yes, but his decision making once he gets there needs a lot of work. He will have to have improved enormously since Christmas to be seen as a worthwhile addition
