To celebrate the start of Football Aid’s 06/07 season, Football Aid are running an exclusive competition with The Sheffield Telegraph to win the chance to play at Bramall Lane. Every Blades fans dream…

A little background info:

Football Aid is a fundraising organisation that gives all football fans (from the classic armchair supporter to the ardent season ticket holder) the chance to play for the team they love, at the stadium, in the strip, with a legend! All proceeds raised from the events go to Football Aid’s parent charity, Field of Dreams towards finding a cure for diabetes and also, a charity nominated by the participating Clubs. Further info can be found at www.footballaid.com.

The competition prize is a 45-minute position in the Football Aid game, taking place at Bramall Lane next April or May. It promises to be a day to remember from arrival at the players entrance, meeting your celebrity playing captains for the day, - who in the past have included the likes of Paul Beesley and Brain Gayle - changing into your personalised first team strip and have friends and family share the experience as you create your own piece of club history.

The competition will run in this Friday’s Telegraph (29th Sept) but for those who don’t want to leave things to chance, positions can be bought for as little as £250 by calling Football Aid on 0131 220 5999 and asking for Graeme, or email [email protected] for more info.

Thanks for supporting Football Aid!

Graeme.

Yes dear... but just to make it clear for the starter of this thread :)

I'd say it was an Alpaca woman anyway : HERE

Ok, fair enough. Give me some points, you've got loads, I've got none.

I feel mardy.

Damn, no emoticon.

Sorry, I'm hi-jacking this thread, please proceed. Jolly good cause.

Hi guys,

I notice the thread's had plenty views but no takers as yet, which is confusing us here at Football Aid!

If anyone has any questions then please post them here and i'll get back on at some point to respond, alternatively for a quicker response you could email me at [email protected]

Many thanks,

Graeme.

Don't get me wrong, I would love the chance to collapse in a heap after 10 minutes of excersise on the Turf down at the Lane. I need a way to raise the cash. Could give up the holiday I was thinking of doing in the new year but preferably I would like to raise the funds in other ways.

A popular issue, and one which we've done our best to alleviate by introducing the 'Sponsored to Play' option.

Once you've committed to this particular option we send you out a Sponsorship pack which entails items such as sponsorship forms and lots of ideas on how to raise the funds. Examples of such being events at work like dress down days, or a quiz night at the pub, or a sponsored run with a couple of mates. You'd be amazed at how quickly the funds can be raised.

You can be as creative as you like with this, and it's the norm for people to actually raise more than the minimum we set. Saying that though, if you do raise the minimum then we're equally happy with that!

Hope that helps.

Not only did I mention this in a bit of selfishness, I would like to go on my holiday. But fund raising is always a good way of raising awareness of something like this to those who wouldn't come across it.
