Who would you start against Villa at the moment?

The reason I ask Villa is because I think Preston will be Wilson's chance to get his first full 90mins, alongside a striker who hasn't featured much recently (Billy, for example, with Ched probably getting 30 mins too).

Donaldson has been good in the run of games he had recently, and the majority of his goals have come from his raw pace putting defenders under pressure and forcing them in to mistakes (I believe three of his five have come from this, against Norwich, Villa and Sunderland). Wilson on the other hand offers a different game, and his goal against Norwich was a from a tight angle with bodies around him.

My choice would be the Don, simply because I love his hassling of defenders and speed.

I haven't seen enough of Wilson (on his cameo vs pigs) to know enough about him, but I doubt Wilder's brought him in unless he wants to give him a few games.

Donaldson and Clarke starting and bringing on Wilson or Billy depending what sort of balls are played into the box and which of starting two is least effective to be replaced. Donaldo did score two against them at Vanilla Park.

Close decision..wouldn't mind either starting against Villa...but Wilson would be my choice..looks to have the potential to score a hatful of goals for us

I presume Wilson is ok for us in the cup, has anything been confirmed

I'd go with Wilson and Donaldson up front. Not sure what impact dropping Clarke (as captain) would have on the side, though. Wilder will know infinitely more than me, but I'd be surprised if he didn't have those two down in his head as his best pairing right now.

Clarke and The Don, he was magnificent at Villa Park and exactly the type of defender JT and the other past its struggle against.

Good shout. Not sure if it's on the cards for a big game like Villa, but a Don & Wilson partnership is intriguing.

I have only seen the substitute appearance vs pigs from Wilson so I can't really comment on him.

I would be more than happy with the Don and Clarke starting. It gives me confidence having people who have seen more of Wilson suggesting Wilson over Don/Clarke. :)

I reckon dropping Clarke would have a negative affect on his confidence. Wilder probably sees it the same way and continues to give him his trust as to not send the lad backwards. Tbh Clarke has earned the gaffers trust.

I’d start Wilson - he is more technical, and chased back extremely well. Also, as a defender, I think Don is the last thing that I would want to see coming on around 60-70 minutes. When you get tired, spaces open up and chasing the fast brick wall that is Big Magic Don into those spaces would rapidly become very demoralising.
