Taking Middlesbrough, Coventry and Ipswich out of the equation, because 2 of those will be promoted automatically, out of all of the teams that I fear will pose the biggest threat to United's play off ambitions are Norwich and Southampton because of their fluid attacking ability and the mindset of their managers !

There are loads of teams in good form, and currently in our way to 6th- Wrexham, Preston, Derby, Brum and Southampton

The we have Norwich and Swansea on our heels.

It's going to take something really special from us and something average from most of them between now and the end of the season. And that's assuming the other teams between us and 6th don't pick up.

Whilst it's possible we need to keep going and we do play most of them again. But this is going to be very tough.

Think places 1st to fifth are now sorted , there’s one place up for grabs & currently Wrexham are in pole position for it & in form . All the contenders have still gotta play each other over next 15 games … watch this space

They're all poor

Unfortunately we're not great either
Big random intake of breath but that is Championship football and with our Championship football side it’s a tough place to go as CW would say.

Although under CW we haven’t been perfect if he would have been in place from the start those 18 points head start under Selles wouldn’t have happened, most of those apart from Ipswich and Bristol were fine margins, if we would have picked up 10 points there we would have been in 6th now and that’s not an unreasonable assumption either. Whatever the outcome in May we need stability at the club and allow CW time to develop the squad he has assembled using our contacts at Man City for loans to top up the squad, yes we may lose a couple but if we can turn them into a sizeable fee, we have infrastructure at the Dore site that can be started on and building the squad

I was thinking yesterday that Southampton could be the ones. They’ve really kicked on since beating us.

There have 4 wins and a draw in last 5 and have moved to 2pts off play offs

Even since wilder returned and we’ve taken a massive upturn we’ve still been our own worst enemies in terms of inconsistencies.

We’ve thrown away two goal leads against Preston and Wrexham. Failed to show up against the likes of West Brom. Made wholesale changes and rested all our inform players against Southampton. Failed to be out of sight by the time the silliness against Charlton happened.

I feel like we’re capable of bridging the points gap if the right United show up between now and the end of the season but it seems too congested with teams between us and 6th, we’re not just chasing one team down there’s about 10 who’ll fancy it.

I reckon we’ll finish 8th/9th after a decent push but a couple of slip ups.
