Danny Wilson on radio Sheffield this morning stated that to date no inquiries or bids have been received by the club , of any nature, for Montgomery or Quinn.
All reports so far are pure speculation as hes not spoken or received communications from Leeds or Southampton or Wigan .

He said hed be happy if they stayed as they are quality players who will be paramount in our quest to run away with the title

Sounds completely deluded if he has an impression we are even going to challenge for promotion with the squad we have currently.
There is very little quality, there is no pace, no heart, no confidence, no balls and more importantly no leaders.

If significant changes dont take place we will continue to make silly mistakes and leak goals. When this happens heads will drop, especially when you take into account the lack of goals in the team.
Conceding the first goal = defeat - pretty much like last season.

The midfield is ponderous and slow witted - nothing like the engine house it should be. Willo is not the answer - cannot get more than a handful of games out of him a season anyway.
Creativity is almost nil from this area and even if Ryan is the real deal, that's a lot of responsibility on the young feller (fair play to Wilson for getting this type of player in though).

Long hard season of slog and toil awaits. It promises few goals to celebrate, daft mistakes against Div 3 oppo and frustration at losing to some shit teams.
We are Division 3 on merit so I am not surprised that Wilson has had no enquiries.

I am resigned to the fact that we will never be rid of Monty. He will end up with 500+ first team appearances and the way things are going will join the likes of Edwards, Kenworthy and Garner as having played for us in four different divisions.

On the displays against Doncaster both players looked short of intelligence and we need to offload these two asap.
The match against Blackpool will give us an opportunity to see the seasons starting team at some point.

I think the club should keep Monty. He is exactly the type of player that will make the different in League One. You need a tough tackling leader like him.

If the club sells monty, quinn, evans and williamson, then next season will be a real struggle.

This league is not easy, there are a few good teams, and a lot of smaller teams that really overachieve. A team that wants to be up there has to work hard, have some creative flair, a proven goalscorer and a solid defence. I told all this to a Wednesday fan last year when they dropped down, he laughed and said it will be an easy league and that they would walk it... we all know what happened there!

On another note, Southampton would not be in for Quinn or Monty. We (Saints) currently have two good players in each position, a squad of 22 which are all good enough for the first 11. All we are after now is a centre back and possibly a striker.

We can cover that role for about a tenth of what Montgomery earns, and it's what Montgomery (and a few others) earn that's got us starting next season with practically the same shower of shite that humiliated us last year.

I am a big Montgomery supporter but I think his game (as a destroyer) is more suited to the higher leagues ,I think Williamson is the one I would keep out of the Quinn/Montgomery/Willo trio.

I thought Willo would be the one I'd keep out of the three, but if was a choice of one or the other, provided we replaced Monty, I'd keep Quinn. From what I've seen of Willo so far this pre-season (only Worksop and Donny) he's not looked great, I thought he lost the ball a lot v Donny the other night, looked light weight.
