But.......

That's 4 points from the last 12 at home and a jammy FA Cup win too.

6 wins from 14 in front of the people who pay the wages. It's great bringing home three points in front of the 1000 or so who go away, but carrying on in the current vein at home will cause people to stay away and lead to a drop in revenue. The Chairman will not back you if that happens, nor is it anything like promotion form.

Have a bit of nous. Don't bring off a player on 89 mins at 2-0 down that everyone is wanting to kick. If you are that oblivious to not anticipate this, then I'll change the title to Wilson out. Wtf did you think it would achieve?

Before it's too late, look deep into the eyes of all your players and ask them how much they really want it? More passengers than Ryanair atm. The dna of this club, whether it's correct or not, is that above anything else, our players put a shift in and nobody, but nobody, should come to Bramall Lane and outwork us.

Fix it while the force is with you. If you think the storm clouds are brewing now, imagine what they'll be like when the bloke at Elland Rd becomes available again.

Dont mention colin w to me. And you are right the players have been outworked by teams like Port vale even, and other teams.

No chance of Warnock coming, but if only we could bring 10% of the spirit back.

Spot on Raul. I agree on the substitutes as well - what is the point bringing a sub on 89 minutes into the game when we're 2-0 down? What's the point in a like for like sub with Kitson coming off for Cresswell? What is the point in that? Why not bring Whitehouse on for Doyle? The problem today as it has been for most of the season is our midfield under-performing again. McDonald has flattered to deceive this year and Doyle has been woeful for the majority of this season; why isn't Wilson threatening them with being dropped for Whitehouse? They just think they can turn up and put in a half hearted performance each week as do the majority of the players and suffer no consequences because of it.

Wilson is spineless and so are our players.

I say, would you mind awfully, sort of, trying to score a goal?

more reason to sack him

Are you sure this is a "Wilson in" thread?

Never been a fan of Wilson, he's done ok though and deserves until at least the end of this season, if not longer.
Yes, today was awful, as have others been recently, but we're still not far from the top .

Do we really think a change in managers will bring success?

Any serious suggestions who we could get?

O'Driscoll - although it depends if O'Driscoll could fire the players up more than Wilson can. Our current set of players are capable but they need a manager to instil passion into them. Unfortunately, Wilson fails to do this as seen by the heartless performances from some of our key players.

I don't feel SoD could do a better job than DW with the current set of players.
It's not a bad shout though, but he's not renown for his motivational skills

In that case, O'Driscoll might not be a good idea. We just need someone who can motivate the players and instil passion like Warnock - not Warnock but a manager similar to him.

I'd actually prefer someone with tactical awareness and an ability to change things mid-game if they're not going right. Dinosaur managers = dinosaur football.

Hate to say it but exactly that worked for those bastards over at S6.....and at our expense so we shouldn't rule it out. It depends how much McCabe needs, (not necessarily wants) us to get out of this shit hole of a division. Who knows what financial commitments have been made banking on promotion.

If you are going to risk sacking someone in these circumstances then it has to be for a passionate, impact manager, someone who will come in and shake the whole place up and get the players hungry and the fans bouncing, (which SOD definately is not).......although I'm not a huge fan about the only out of work manager who fits this bill is Billy Davies...

Billy Davies is always a manager I've admired.... BUT do we want long ball again?

Aye, we'd want to hold on the the lovely passing game we've been so fond of this season.

Oh yes, it would be a disaster.
Got our fan base back, created a good atmosphere, built the team, created finances.

All recipes for disaster.
And stayed too long. He'd never be accepted back here and probably wouldn't come back. He thinks he's too good for us now.

Blackwell was fired after being thumped at home by a much better team,Wilson is lucky no investors where there today to witness a similar poor effort.

Indeed. And an example why a knee-jerk reaction like that probably isn't always a great idea. In that particular example, the time to move Blackwell on was either pre-season that year, or pre-season the previous year. We likely wouldn't have gone down had Blackwell stayed that season.

FFS, really?
Second only to Fergie in the moaning/angry category. Can't stand the man. Small man syndrome personified.
Fair enough, he got Forest into the playoffs. But he looked lacking in terms of tactical awareness- imo.
I saw the Swansea - Forest playoff game & the Swans took em to the cleaners.

I would be tempted to go for Stuart McCall.

I have not really considered who I would go for because I've been behind DW so far this season, but I think the last few games have shown his limitations and weaknesses

Danny wilson has done a fantastic job ,slashed wage bill from a reported 12 m to a now realistic 5m that should help us move forward but fans should also realise we are still in a transition period which will take time and i reckon wilson has been Good in the transfer market they hasnt bin many bad signings ,williams and maybe westlake? Blackmen, mcdonald, mcmahan, flyn,Miller,Murphy, higgy are championship players signed for small change compared to Wot we used to spend Keep behind the club im still behind Them and im confident in Danny taking us forward were havin a bad patch but we still up there and we will be come may every team has a dip specially third tier clubs

His record for both PNE, Derby and Forest speaks for itself really.
He achieves results on a small budget.
