Fuck me, we've lost 3 games this season and people seriously calling for Wilson's head?! If we don't get up this season, yes this must be looked at, but now, now would be a disaster of Blackwell-sacking proportions. I don't care what happened at S6 last season, it doesn't mean it will work out the same for us does it.

I agree.

When we changed managers multiple times in one season we ended up getting relegated.

It has to be the right man at the right time when you change managers. A change now would just bugger us up especially in the middle of the transfer window.
 
Some sense at last on here. The players are behind Danny..some poor results and yep the players need a rocket. Believe me Danny is more than capable of sorting this.. Wednesday changed a manager yes and no doubt it worked, however we all know why we didn't get promoted.. If you look at it now we have strikers making poor runs. Kits needs it from the line....Blackman runs deep most times and not short and thats when he foes up front.Midfield ends up looking for a pass that is not there.. Ched came short and also ran the channel....that's why he cost a fortune...and that's why the others don't. Before you comment at the next game don't watch the ball watch the run and then you might have a different opinion on Doyle and McDonald. We are holding the ball too long because the runs are't right. The wide men then come short etc etc. they know that but that's what money buys... By the way left back Is not up for debate. Shocking! Blame Danny for that as well if you want but i don't think you will tell him anything he does not know. I will put my helmet on now !
 
Unfortunately your faith in Wilson is misguided - where and when has he ever proved that he is capable of sorting anything?
He is tactically niaive, he very rarely has a Plan B, his use of substitutes is shocking and his motivational skill appear non - existant
Wilson is a loser, a bottler and has done nothing to prove otherwise
He actually failed to get the most expensive squad promotion last season from a position of near invicability with only three games to go!
This season every side that plays against us is brilliant, risiliant and under estimated - even Hartlepool!
Promotion - it's just a pipe dream!

Of course they're behind him, they're guaranteed a shirt and they're fooking crap. Mr. Miserable couldn't dish out a rocket if he was a rocket disher outerer. He's a small dour bloke who does what he's there to do, not make waves.

Danny Wilson has us playing football, or at least that's what he keeps telling us. He's not a Blade, he doesn't care, he'll go the way of all the others. We won't replace him with anyone good, we won't do anything while McCabe's at the reins because he's where the problem is. He's had an easy ride so far this season but don't worry baldy, some of us haven't forgot. You're the dark chap in the woodpile and the sooner you fuck right off the better. We're in Division 3 and we aren't very good but no worries, we're all Blades in here aren't we :rolleyes:

I certainly would having put myself through reading that.

I don't particularly like random capitAls In the midDle of sentences, but I Can live with it I suppose. The appalling spelling is par for the coarse (I enjoyed that) these days, annoying as it is. I can even forgive someone using a keyboard that has had it's punctuation keys removed.

However, if you're going down the "so called" fans route at least get that right as some of us are keen observers of such patronising terms.

The classic form is "so called" fans or "so called" Blades. In recent weeks the understated, but possibly more pertitnent, use of "fans" or "supporters" has added a nice new element that you might be able to use thus saving some effort. However, not using quotes at all and simply putting a capital S on So but not bothering with a capital B on Blades is just wrong on so many levels.

Must try harder I'm afraid.

you actually read it? wow. i took one look at the funny little dots in the word "look" (i forget what they are called, bumclots or sumink i dunno) then decided it probably wasnt a post worth reading. btw i could put the ' into words like wasnt, but my keyboard doesnt have a ' on it. true story! :D
 
It's a constant shifting of sands Greckle. For instance, some posters go for the "so called/so-called" in the speechmarks whereas others prefer to leave that part un-anotated and go with the noun - ie "fans".

I'm proposing a merger of the two and hope that from the chaos a leaner and fitter term (how about just "So's"?) can evolve reflecting these austere times.

I think I'd be happy with that, short and snappy. Might be a little heavy on the puctuation for some though, especially if they're in "red faced rant" mode at the time.

Although it's not at all in context I really like KennyM's "bumclots" in the previous post. Being a little bit more obscure it might fit the bill perfectly and there'd be no need to enclose in quotes I don't think. Think I'll give it a trial.

Surely the scare quotes should always be around "fans" or "Blades" rather than around "so-called" as the use of the said scare quotes is to indicate that the writer does not believe the people in question are really fans or Blades. If fact, if you use "so called", you do not need scare quotes at all as the phrase "so called" subsitutes for them to indicate the writer's scepticism re the true fandom of those he is criticising. Thus the two correct usages are:

1. So called fans (or Blades)
2. "fans"(or "Blades")

Got Barnsley promoted to the top flight. Who else has done that? We'll get that comment next....."it happened 10, 15 years ago." Oh ok it doesn't count then.

He inherited a shite squad when he came to us, devoid of any confidence or belief (anyone could have beaten us) and got us winning games. We lost our four best players in the summer and we're still 4th, in with a shout of automatic promotion. Yeh you're right he's a shit manager :rolleyes:
 
I think I'm giving Frijo a "like" for his work. Not only has he got an old man with a preposterous line in baseball caps foaming, he's indirectly brought us to the peak of the internet with the introduction of a new word I fully intend to overuse.
 
i hope im wrong, but i dont see us in with a shout of automatic promotion. which is probably where the debate lies. on the face of it 4th, with the chance of top 2, isnt that bad. if you believe, like i do, that were going to struggle to hang on to a top 6 spot. and that automatic promotion isnt even a remote possibility. it starts to look a lot less of a decent situation.

Finally I think we should go to acronyms such as SCBF or SCF. FOTH or FOTM? After all there don't seem to be enough acronyms in day to day life.
