Wilson in last chance saloon?

Where do these people like Atkins/Grayson come from?
Someone takes a punt on them at some point.

There are 12 young coaches fron England who have been chosen by EUFA to take a new course above [think top is A+ currently but I stand to be corrected], anyhow its a new level for the brightest coaches around.

Why not get one of these in?

young coaches - young to me!!

Having read the ludicrous suggestions above:

1. We'd all be happy with Grayson?? Edit that, please, you have at least one dissenter!
2. What has Morgan done to justify becoming manager of SUFC? It's the same sort of sentimental 'He's a Blade' claptrap that had some of you suggesting Wilder, Holdsworth, Peschisolido and even Currie, last time.
3. Phil Brown!!!!! No further observation necessary.

Apart from Adkins [I would sack DW, reluctantly but immediately, if he would take the job] the pool is stagnant.

Grayson does have a proven track record.

Robson certainly didn't but it was no barrier to him getting the job.

Mind you Grayson might not know our Turry

Grayson, Brown, Morgan - No Thanks
Adkins Id take in a shot but wonder if he would accept the job, surely there will be offers from the Championship, probably Forest now McLeish has walked out

It's not a suggestion, I am merely stating who I think would be appointed if Wilson were to go. You seriously don't think that could happen? I think there's every chance.

For those suggesting Adkins.....for the last time.....CAN'T AFFORD HIM!

Wilder will be next, to be fair he's done quite well at low levels, I'd like Adkins but he has got used to working with a budget and we all know that wouldn't be the case at BDTBL.

However I think we can't afford to sack DW, although I do feel his hands are tied, scraping round for a decent player and one who'd have the balls to come to a dwindling club, so we are stuck with some overpaid under average players who really if we're honest are robbing the club, even at this level. I for one find it really upsetting we've got to this stage.

Play offs would be a big achievement this season IMHO

Nonsense. Robson was a disaster here but he won the Championship with Boro, got promotion to the Premier League twice and took them to their first ever Cup Final and then two more!

The most recent entries on Grayson's track record are failure and the sack!

But he had enormous resources at his disposal at Boro. He spent £17M (probably close to £100M in today's football money) on transfers in one season - 1993 I think - when the nearest competitor would have been lucky to spend a tiny fraction of that.

UTB

Adkins? Why are people kidding themselves? Under what assumption are people are saying that he'd join us considering the success he'd had at Southampton?

I'll go back to Wednesday as an example of short-termism; Who did they have? Chris Turner, Paul Sturrock, Alan Irvine, Brian Laws, Megson. It's rarely a step forward; it's usually just a change for change sake, and then when nothing improves in a year or so, change again, and when that doesn't work out in a year or so, change again. Each change brought a new philosophy, each manager needed his own staff, his own squad etc, it was costly each time. It wasn't until they got Jones that suddenly they got someone above the usual suspects, and that took them years to get to that level of quality, with a new chairman and fresh finances. So yes, lets change DW and get someone else in, I guarantee you'll be disappointed.

Is DW the reason we are in League 1? No, it was Micky Adams. That's the sort of quality we'll aim for if we're lucky. We may have the big gates and be the big club, but managers also know the pressures both internally and externally and only few will relish it and chances are they will go the way of the Irvines and the Turners.

What's Owen Coyle doing these days ?

I know he'd cost if he agreed to come, but so will stagnating in Division 1 with dwindling crowds.

I'd have only had Surrock out of that lot.

Can't remember where they where when they sacked him.

Absolutely. I meant him no compliment, just rebutting the suggestion that he had no 'track record'.

But he also had pretty large resources at his disposal at United - I don't think any other United manager had comparable resources - Beattie, Hendrie, Naysmith, Sharp, Cahill, Bardsley, Speed, Ehiogu etc - how much did that little lot cost in fees and wages?

Track record? Whilst he 'achieved' ? Our dog could have done as well based on the cash that was spent.
I think he greatly under achieved given his spending power and was a failure. Then his time at SUFC proved me right.

Said it before but Billy Davies? NOt my ideal choice but would get us out of the shit-hole we are in.

And whilst we are at it the boobs have gone again and have been replaced by X-Factor loser Christopher Maloney.

When we next taste victory the boobs will return.

Cut this out and paste it on the dressing room wall tonight Mr Wilson.

I look forward to seeing them tomorrow then!;)

We can't have a manger that splits the fan base.
