Will you miss the derby?

Some of the comments here are the same I heard from Pigs in 1994 when we got relegated from the Premiership. They had a good team then with Waddle and Co. We were the insignificant little neighbour who should know our place. The massiv were rivals with Man United, Liverpool, Weeds, not the anti football team from across the City. We would disappear off the radar for good, we nearly did!

They hated Derbies because the Basset Boys had caused them to experience the Derby that hurt them the most in their history, Bobby Davison Day. They didn't want to ever have to cope with that little teams supporters in Red and White turning up at their ground on all four sides out singing them for 90 minutes. We took 6 points off them that year. It was a bad dream for them, too much to deal with.

The Sheffield Derby is the most passionate Derby in English football. We dislike each other immensely it shows on and off the pitch. We have a manager and a Captain who are Blades who would want to rub their noses in it at every opportunity. Our Captain has still not had the pleasure of being on the pitch to lead us to a victory over them.

So what if we lose one occasionally it only makes the next one more important. We are City rivals who eat live and breathe football with our friends, family, neighbours and enemies. Much better than one city clubs like Weeds and Dull whose major rivals are egg chasers.

The best two games I ever attended were the Bobby Davison and Mark Duffy Bouncing Days.

If it happens I look forward to seeing how the Club performs on the World stage against the top 6 but lets be honest watching the likes of Bournemouth or Brighton won't get the juices flowing like a Sheffield Derby.

The Pigs fear us being the top dog but while ever we are in different leagues they will find excuses to say they are better than us. They currently cling to the hope that next year will be a re run of 1991 where we are at the bottom losing every week whilst they are in the Division below walking away with the Championship.

Nothing beats spanking their arses on their own turf and letting them know we'll never be mastered. Where will I swing a pig from? there will be none in town. My wings of a sparrow and arse of a crow will be redundant and get in the way of the Red Flag I'm still trying to fly high. So yes I will miss them.:)

I take it you weren’t at the FA Cup semi or the four Derbies after the Davison game? Wednesday weren’t remotely scared of playing us.
