Not sure we seemed to sell much more that today. Those ticket maps showing what was left were wrong clearly. We were a long way off selling out.

There were thousands of empty seats in the United end. The bit behind the goal (middle tier) was almost empty and a huge number near the dugouts too. Quite a few gaps/chunks round us today. If we did have 35k, I'm not sure there were more than 27 to 28k SUFC fans. Sunderland end didn't seem to have an empty seat.

As others have said, we get there again and it will be much less going.

Yep - I vowed never to go again after Hudds Town - was terrible living here afterwards. But that was a real sickener yesterday - even worse. This will take longer to get over - and now we have another generation of players & fans burnt by this letdown.

I won’t be going again. Depends how long it is - but I’ll be surprised if we sell 25,000 max next time.

Agreed - forget how many tickets we sell. If it’s only 20,000 & all our fans who will back the team and not day trippers - that’s fine. Don’t do the more than 1 ticket again…. I bet there were a couple of thousand Sunderland fans scattered in our end - which was not pleasant at the end.

You can't expect people to keep paying hundreds of pounds for something that isn't enjoyable. You can't expect the fans to be optimistic when it's the same outcome every time. People can talk about fans not being loyal or being defeatist but they don't owe the club anything and I don't think any club in the country would be any different if they constantly lost big games.

You have fans who have had season tickets for decades not bothering with the biggest game of the season. It's a crazy situation but totally understandable

For fans of other clubs - they don’t understand or have the experience of suffering serial failures in big games over the last 32 years (ie Cup Semi v Pigs). To have not one big moment….elation in a big ‘club changing game’ for promotion / relegation or cup semi …. Is almost unbelievable for a club having had so many chances. Every other team in football gets those at least once……but we have had nothing. Fans will not keep forking out £150 plus to go through this over & over again.

I'm not sure to be honest but club wembley tickets aren't counted in the 35k allocation.

A lot of club wembley areas are corporate season tickets where they choose not to go for lesser games like playoffs.

I don't think it was a sell out but I'd say there were around 34k blades fans there easily

I was in block 524 and there were loads of empty seats. It made for a very flat atmosphere.

If we did fail to sell anything like our full allocation then I believe the club should ask those fans (season ticket holders & membership fans) what were their reason(s) for not attending.

There is a school of thought that attendances don't matter but it is clear by the number of threads / posts that it is an issue that means a great deal to the fans.

If we get there again I will go but there may have been fans in block 524 yesterday who came away with a negative view of watching the Blades at Wembley and decide enougn is enough.

We were on level 1 bang on the halfway line with only the netted off seats below the tv cameras between us and the Sunderland fans. When we put the ball in the net for the second time, they went totally flat. Loads were off to the concourse. On our side, everyone was bouncing, noisy, giddy. When the VAR check was announced it was like a punch in the gut. When the expected decision was made, Sunderland fans made a huge roar, we were totally flat. We never recovered.

Then in the second half we had to watch the negative tactics that had failed to work against the better teams in the league, keep ball, pass back and time wasting from the off.

Was the result all Wilders fault? Obviously not, but where does the responsibility lay? Who’s going to take put their hand up for their part in it? Our managers retreat to the dressing room and the usual press interviews should be a starting point.

One thing seems certain, he won’t go of his own volition, there’s no bigger job out there for him, he’ll probably have to accept a DOF managing him. Now there’s a recipe for disaster.

The number of seats at Wembley are (apparently):

• Lower Tier: 34,303 seats.
• Middle Tier: 16,532 seats.
• Upper Tier: 39,165 seats

Excluding the middle tier and accounting for some waste & segregation, that means the initial allocations were 35.5k each without the middle tier. We shifted some from upper and lower into middle, so likely around 34 k, Sunderland took many more middle tier seats and probably took more than 40k given the overall attendance of 82k

We were in block 121, and I was surprised that the whole back section of the block was empty. Pretty much everything up from the vomitory, I don't think those tickets ever went on sale.

I was one of the many ST holders who for 1st time yesterday let my head rule my heart and gave it a miss . Still strange to do so and of course come kick off wish I could have been teleported into Wembley.
I actually like most thought we'd win but at the end was grateful to miss that journey home - the longest journey we've all taken so many times .
Suppose if there is a next time I'll be back there again , more in hope than expectation.
Credit to everyone who made the trip , did us proud and returned safely home at whatever time .

For the Huddersfield game I bought a ticket from a supplier of mine, I was in the Huddersfield fans side.

Yesterday I was in 122, a few seats from the netting. There were loads of empty seats in on there side, haven’t seen any comments from Wednesday fans on social media about that.

End of the day there were 82k yesterday, a few more Sunderland fans in

It’s a fine balance isn’t it. Season tickets and members should absolutely get priority but once the majority have been sold, I think we may have sold more if they went on proper unrestricted general release or allowed ST holders to buy more than one ticket.

We will struggle to sell 25k next time, and it's understandable. Even with victory on a plate, our club refuses to be the winner. We've cemented ourselves as a loser club in the minds of all our fans. That won't go away for a long time, probably decades

Personally, I'll always go. But next time I'm doing it as cheaply as possible. There's nothing to like about that shithole and about the stadium either

5 semi-finals (Pigs, Newcastle, Arsenal, Hull, Man City) + 2 league cup semi-finals.
Regarding one offs, I worked out after Corky scored at Old Wembley, we went over 13 hours without scoring. That's tough, no wonder we went berserk v Hull.

Now 12 big games on the bounce. After watching the Blades since I could walk, 58 years, I am not sure i want it any more, seriously. Yesterday was so cruel, adults were devastated & kids were in tears. Don't need this anymore.

I’ve been to all of our forlorn trips to the place and this time it was in large part, simply out of duty because my son wanted to go. My dad and brother - also season-ticket holders - made the decision not to bother. They’ve had their fill of the place.

Drove down; parked in the official car park right next to the stadium just after 1pm after crawling down the M1 through dismal Watford, Luton etc and then the traffic in the vile surrounding streets of Brent; had the lunch we’d brought with us whilst sat in the car in the multi-storey; went straight into the ground from there for a non-existent match build-up; watched the game whilst never feeling part of it or sensing that there was any sense of occasion or atmosphere; and got out of the stadium as soon as the final whistle blew to get away from the hell-hole as soon as possible.

God knows why they felt they needed to keep the building of that soulless bowl in such a horrendous area. All of that money spent to produce that as a national stadium. Is that the best we could do? At least the old stadium had some charm, character and architectural merit. It is entirely fitting that the south side of the stadium is adjacent to a concrete factory.

It’s embarrassing that, for international fixtures, football fans from overseas attend Wembley. The whole surrounding area for a radius of a mile needs slum clearance. Horrific. Although, perhaps that is just what most of London and Greater London is - dirty, run-down and depressing.

At least, my son has seen enough of it for himself now. It actually felt up-lifting when our return on the M1 got back into Yorkshire…and special mention to those Blades singing defiantly from the various mini-buses and transit vans when they saw the Blades shirts going past them on the motorway..

genuinely wanted to know what they made of our performance it's not like we were shit for the entire 90, they were dogshit most of the 1st half so I hope they'd be acknowledging our 1st half performance.
