So could be anywhere between 33,000 to 35,000 Unitedite for a game 150 miles away and having already averaged over 28,000 in the league.
Not sure it tells us that much. But given the right level of football I.e. top flight, and the absence of away fans in that 33,000 / 35,000 figure, we could probably extend the stadium to 36,000 to 38,000 and fill the bigger games. There was actually not much of a drop off from relegation which was surprising.
Always a fine balance. If there were no restrictions on day one then we would have sold more with casual fans, fans who hadn’t been for years and possible day trippers and interested family members, even some non-United fans. Always a risk some genuine fans miss out.
I once went to see Carter USM with a mate of mine. So I was in that number. I wasn’t remotely a fan of Jimbob or Fruitbat, but it was enjoyable. Point being, securing these attendees or not doesn’t mean anything long term.
We’ve a pretty solid fan base now. Another stint in the Prem won’t shrink that, even if we stink the place out.
Enjoy the day to those going. Let’s not be precious about the fact that someone doesn’t have the cash to pay for and travel so far. It’s their prerogative and it’s harsh on everyday Sheffield folk.
Me and my daughter will watch it on the sofa at home from 7,000 miles away.
Main thing is as Adrian says to Rocky “ there’s one thing I want you to do for me…win! Win!”
The Bramall lane upper tier could be extended above the road ! Similar to old Trafford and some other stadiums.I think for me, you'd focus on small capacity improvements but significant quality improvements.
For example, Step 1 would be to re-do the Kop and maybe add 2k seats. Then if we wanted to maximise revenue we could offer a bigger % of the BL stand to away fans - especially if we manage to return and stay in the Prem.
Season ticket holders could buy as many tickets as they wanted (I don't think there was a limit - I bought 7 together) for other season ticket holders by adding them to Family and Friends.Disagree, allowing season ticket holders to buy up to 4 would have largely resulted in season ticket holder A buying tickets for season ticket holders B, C and D so they can sit together and not season ticket holders A, B, C and D all buying 4 each. There would have alao been season ticket holders buying tickets for none season ticket holders who were members or have 15k points etc to sit together. Those people would have bought tickets anyway.
I’m no engineer, but would it be possible to just build over the existing Kop steps (possibly with some reinforcement beneath) to improve the rake so it’s steeper? It’d obviously need closing for a length of time, but it’d be faster than removing everything to allow for this.I think for me, you'd focus on small capacity improvements but significant quality improvements.

Ideally, I'd focus on nothing but quality for the Kop - steeper rake, large standing area, better concourse facilities, new roof, no pillarsI think for me, you'd focus on small capacity improvements but significant quality improvements.

For me I would put an extra tier on the (New) South Stand with new exec boxes.. We will then have somewhere for fans who are displaced from the Kop during building work to go and have inceased income streams from the boxes.I think for me, you'd focus on small capacity improvements but significant quality improvements.

Handfuls only - less than a dozen, mostly singles, in most sections - apart from 523 where there are around 40.Every block in the upper tier appears to have seats available
Let's not get too carried away. If we lose on Saturday, we lose our 'stars' and things will not look so rosy. For me I would put an extra tier on the (New) South Stand with new exec boxes.. We can then plan for a complete rebuild of the Kop with a view to an overall increase in capacity of the ground to at least 38k. From there we can start offering reduced prices for kids( one thing that McCabe was really good at) to encourage future support.....get them young !!!
I definitley agree with the big subsidy for kids. £20 for an Under 10, £50 for an Under 16,For me I would put an extra tier on the (New) South Stand with new exec boxes.. Remodeling the Kop would be the most cost effective way of increasing capacity and at the same time improving facilities in the most populated part of the stadium.I’d like to see a few thousand ‘safe standing’ added by extending at the back of the Kop. It would mean replacing the roof, which would be an opportunity to remove the pillars.
That way we’d get the additional capacity, improved sight lines and (hopefully) better atmosphere all together.
we wont lose !!Let's not get too carried away. If we lose on Saturday, we lose our 'stars' and things will not look so rosy.
Oap tickets show the same as other concessions I think, mine usually lights up yellow and did the same when I used the wrong card a few weeks agoI definitley agree with the big subsidy for kids. £20 for an Under 10, £50 for an Under 16,
But we would massively need to increase stewarding stopping free loaders trying to get in on kids tickets. I see so many 'Adults' who come through the turnstyles with the concessions light lit up.

About 150 in the top 5xx blocks, although I think there is over a 100 hidden in block 525 as wellHandfuls only - less than a dozen, mostly singles, in most sections - apart from 523 where there are around 40.
Why safe standing at the front rather than the back where most of those that want to stand are currently?Remodeling the Kop would be the most cost effective way of increasing capacity and at the same time improving facilities in the most populated part of the stadium.
Safe standing should be at the front of the Kop with access via separate turnstiles. This would give additional safety for all.
Think this has to be the immediate priorityI’d like to see a few thousand ‘safe standing’ added by extending at the back of the Kop. It would mean replacing the roof, which would be an opportunity to remove the pillars.

I'd wager you wouldn't put down lots of money on that absolutely certain prediction of yours.....lol.we wont lose !!
It’s going either way, hopefully be a great game!I'd wager you wouldn't put down lots of money on that absolutely certain prediction of yours.....lol.
I'm just going to enjoy the day come what may. I won't be in bits if we lose, as personally I still think it's too early for us. The only positive will be parachute payments after a woeful season. In fact I think I put down this as my opening gambit on here. It’s going either way, hopefully be a great game!
AI cameras will sort that soon nough. Feckin supporters, it’s theft however you look at itI definitley agree with the big subsidy for kids. £20 for an Under 10, £50 for an Under 16,

The extension to the back of the kop is planned to be a steeper rake, like what the whole top half should have been if it hadn't have been overseen by the couple of charlatans that were Hinchcliffe and Woolhouse. I think that may be too steep for standing in today's sanitised society, which is why it might be beneficial to put any standing at the front. My guess is, and it's only a guess, is if safe standing comes to the kop, it will be top to bottom in one of the side blocks. Why safe standing at the front rather than the back where most of those that want to stand are currently?
The front should be more accessible, not making those who are less able, walk up steps to the back in order to sit. Have the standing section at the back and then it’s not an issue.
