Yes , I understand after seeing posts over on ' Let's Get Some Moneh Spent Mill ' that the prerequisite for any new striker is no longer black / young / pacy / hungry but ' powerful ' .

Somebody like Higgopotamus then ?
Surely the only criteria are, expensive and like a marquee?

I'll expand a bit on my post because I find myself agreeing with alot in your post.
I'd be happy with Wilders performance with a top half finish, as a club we have to be aiming higher. I have to disagree on the ownership not being a factor. Wilder deserves a lot of credit for building this impressive side on a budget and keeping us the right end of the table. Remember the Northampton job was such an achievement it got him the Sheffield united job. I went to the Villa game and I thought we were amazing to a man. I think we have a chance of the top 6 but I don't have any faith in the owners doing what's needed to get us over the line.( like last season). I also agree on the importance of making the step before losing key players again.

I understand what you're saying there and yes I feel the same tbh. It would be a lot more positive if the ownership thing was sorted out.

We have as good a chance as any team , but you need the rub of the green , to not lose too many key players to injury , get the wrong end of game changing refereeing decisions
and the players maintain their standards they are capable of. Play like we did against villa in 25 of the 40 remaining games were definitely in the play offs.
theres no reason why we cant play at that level of performance in future games.
Other teams are just as fallable as we are, They will all lose games, as always aim for 2 points a game average and hope you get a fair deal from the gods of levelling things out
