As I'm sure you agree, he is nowhere near ready to start for us next August (ie the time that currently we will be without a first choice keeper). He may come good in the future, he may not - hence the low risk punt. I think our recruitment team will be actively searching to sign (presuming we don't re-sign Hendo that is) a keeper ready to play next August.

Goalkeeping is a bit different though. It’s a bit like learning to ride a bike, you never forget. Look at Wednesday’s goalkeeper Cameron Dawson. He started out as a striker. And he’s not forgotten how to head the ball into the net!

With Hendo we're full on challenging them, Spurs, Chelsea (who we could be ahead of in 2 games time). Man Utd have got to look at it and see they are directly losing money even if we finish 9th and they 10th.
