of lowest points total. Its looking that way i really cant see where we will pick up 3 points. Defence were poor last season but look even worse now. Its going to be a long season.

That defence which isn't full stength. I think we'll get more points than Sunderland and i still think we'll stay up. Scoring has been to problem too, but hopefully after scoring yesterday it will help the confidence of the strikers(great finish too)

After 3 home games in which we've played one bad half your saying we'll get less points than Sunderland. I think not.
Even after the penalty saves last week everyone thought we played V well, one bad half and all the naysayers appear.
It's easy to critisise(sp) from where we all are, but none of us could do better (in the hardest league in the world).
Reading ARE our bogey team of recent times and I wasn't surprised with what happened cos it's just like last seasons games against them luck wise (we should but didn't have 3 pen's against them last season).

Time will tell, but to say pretty much we're religated now is bollocks.
Go support someone else if you think that cos your not a real fan, real fans would back the team till the death. Not get on there backs after one bad half.

I doubt any of the promoted teams will do as badly as Sunderland. Certainly not us. We have a quality GK, good defense, and when Webber and Kabba are fit Hulse will have the support he needs to score goals. Staying up we are!

one win could put us up 4 or 5 places, maybe more. If results go our way.

its too early to say just dosnt look good at the mo. Mainly due to injurys really but i cant see us finishing bottom. Id be gutted if we did coz we are better than a fair few teams in this league.

corse we'll stay up
corse we'll beat sunderlands total points

corse we've got better players who are just out injured. but to be fare the lads that have played up to now have played well apart from the first half yesterday and against reading. its all these new season ticket holders n part-timers that seem to boo...(we'll thats who they are aroun me) i just can't belive ppl thinking negative nah already jesus we've played 5games n were already shit compared to last year, going str8 back down n cnt win a game

well sed woody mate. we all no who the people that boo around us are dnt we lol. i can see us ataying up it will be a struggle all the way through the season

We won't come anywhere near Sunderland's poxy points total, and I think it will be a fair few years until any team does. We won't get relegated either.

Ask me again after 10 games. Should have enough to beat that total, but I still have serious reservations about NW at this level. His comments after the game on 5 live were appalling, what a good game it was, how we tweaked it a bit and were deserving soemthing after the second half, how great it is in the premier league, how much he is really enjoying it! Sounded like an overawed kid on thier first trip to Disneyworld. Needs to get a grip of the situation, for his own sake, cos I don't think McCabe is thinking along those lines, the guy is very ambitious for the club. I seriously think he's got until Christmas, before McCabe takes action!
You all seem to think the squad is good enough (I've seen so many seasons of football I have reservations), so if they are still languishing at the bottom, who's at fault??

lol whats this guy smoking, weve not played bad at all this season except the first half yesterday,we ve outclassed our opposition at times and weve made chance in the last two games things, claude davis a eesential part to our defense is coming back we are on the up

Injuries are just an excuse I'm afraid. We brought in loads of players over the summer to cope with injuries and yet we still continue to use that old excuse.

When the injuries are to
Kenny, Davis, Bromby (He played but wasn't fully fit), Tonge, Monty, Kabba & Webber to name but a few I don't see them as being excuses cos they are some of our best players and we do miss them.

Do you really think we've only played badly in one half this season? Is that just at home or home and away? We had more possession than Reading in the second half, but we still never really looked like scoring. Hulses goal was well taken but it was from an up and under ball into the box that was more akin to Sunday league. How many saves did Hanneman actually have to make? The final ball in to the box was abysmal on Saturday, Jagielka was awful. Armstrong, Akinbiyi, Ifill, Unsworth, ditto. There was no movement from United, no one looking to make space for another player, no one making runs. Players can play badly and it’s their fault, when the team turns up and plays like the Nag’s Head, that’s the management’s fault. Do they practice set pieces during the week? That might have been the most woeful performance I’ve seen from the Blades, and that’s why people are so angry, but it probably wasn’t any worse than against Tottenham. I really can’t see where a win’s going to come from at the moment.

I am going on Home games as i haven't been to the away games and haven't seen them in full yet.
Reading outplayed us in the first half and played well in the second. We played better than them in the second and I agree that the tactics were wrong in the first.
I don't think Akinbiyi played as bad as you say, he put in 100% and doesn't seem to get the run of the ball ever (some due to his first touch some due to things he can help - his luck seems to be bad all the time in front of goal).
I have seen far worse performances from us (Wimbledon a few seasons ago where we got a lucky point in the last minute).
I can see us bouncing back and getting a win, I don't think it will be on Saturday but I can see a change in tactics and us getting at someone soon.

I couldn't agree more about Ade's work ethic, but if he gives 100% and that isn't good enough surely there can't be a place for him. I wanted him to play on Saturday because I really think we haven't played to his strengths, he's not a big target man, but his control was awfull. Like I said, I'm really struggling to be constructive at the moment. I think we looked like a side who's manager hasn't got a clue on Saturday, it's performances like that why Warnock hasn't got a new contract.

we play him in the rong role.....play the ball in front of him and let him run on to it thats his strength

although having said that hes not scored since febuary :) can always remember him playing for leicester (i think anyway) in prem and doing fuck all. didnt think he was good enough when we signed him and don't think he is now

Just thought I'd dig this thread back up seen as we have already beaten their record.

Let's keep the run going Blades!

:)

Next stop, the 30 points that West Brom went down with :D

Glad we got over the Sunderland thing now!

Just a bump for this one.

Looks like we've far surpassed what people were saying at the start of the season, only really Watford that have dipped into the embarising (SP) points total bin this year.

And a credit to everyone at Bramall Lane for turning some abhorrent early season performances arround. We've got ourselves in a position that gives us a great chance of staying up. Let's all hope we go and do it!

A perfectly produced humble pie, i should imagine there are quite a few of these being eaten once we are safe...

...including the one i intend to swallow whole after slating the siging of Rob Hulse as our premiership striker.

If we stay up I will gladly eat humble pie.

At the begining of the season I didn't think we had the capabilities to do so.

BUT I never for one moment believed we would die like the black cats did last time.

I'll have a slice of that as well as I too slated him when we signed him, but since then turned into my favourite player. Hope it tastes nice.

:D

After seeing him a few times for Derby, I wasn't convinced by the signing of Mr Jonothan Stead. However, I now have his name and number on my shirt, and the last couple of goals that he's got for us could prove to be vital :)
