Will Short retire now?

After his troubled performance tonight against Birmingham it wouldn't surprise me if Craig Short decided to retire.

If he doesn't think he has anything to offer I think he may go.

A few decent headers and the odd few good pass was about it from him tonight. I think tonight is a strong indication that he should pack it in.

yup, quite worrying though, our defence is only something if we have claude in it, we cant really relay on one player, Liverpool have shown that with Gerrard, although their rotating system is the main thing why they arent winning

Never been a big Short fan the whole time he has been at united, i think he should of bowed out at the end of last season on a high like he said he would do. On a happier note thank god Claude Davis is available for the Chelsea game hes really impressed me and lots of others for that matter in the red and white shirt so far this season, feel a lot more comfortable with him at the back than Morgan and i think he brings out the best in Jags Cant wait for saturday even though i will be having no sleep at all on friday night ...arggghhh i suppose a game against the premiership champions should be enough to cure my lack of sleep cya all at the match

I would say they did quite well for the second half v. Everton. We never saw another peep out of them with Morgan firmly but fairly kicking them off the park.

A defence of Bromby, Davis, Jagielka and Armstrong cannot be compared to one with Sommeil, Short, Morgan and Unsworth in it. Morgan is the only one likely to be anywhere near the first team.

The defence was bloody abysmal last night. Only positives were Monty having a good gam, Webber looking fit and Nicky Law playing well. Akinbiyi was very hit-and-miss, Kabba looked reasonable, Ifill and Bennett were ok, and the substitutes were ok, but no more.


Did any one notice the groundsperson in the pink trousers? Very fetching.

Love thios dif of opinion.
I said to my dad at half time that Ifill & Monty had better buck up in the second half cos they looked the worst out there IMO.
Monty played 100 x better in the second half, Ifill didn't and I thought Li Tie should have been on for him after 5-10 mins of the second.
Short was ok in the first half but the second was a disaster for him and the entire defence.
Sommiel went walk about to Right wing far too many times leaving 3 to defend and the three without much pace between them.

what annoyed me about morgan was when their first goal went in morgan gave a smile as if he was playing in the park, like whoops, be reet though not like its a big game, which really pi$$ed me off
