Or rather, do you think Paddy is going to be "rested" for the sake of sensitivity?

Even the most mild-mannered Blades I've spoken to are looking forward to bit of a pantomime on Saturday but the closer to the game it gets, the more I think he won't actually play.

Do you reckon he'll be cowering in the safety of the directors' box instead of facing the Kop?

Do I think he'll play?...................yes most certainly

and If he does play, then I do hope he does bottle it alright :)

I'm really unsure about whether he will play or not. I think it is more likely that he will play but part of me thinks Warnock will bottle it - not paddy. We have known Warnock to bottle it in the past in regard to team selection / tactics and he may be wary of his duty to protect his new investment.

If I was putting money on it, I would say yes he will play. But it wouldn't at all surprise me if Warnock announced Paddy had "a slight niggle" on Saturday morning and withdraws him. We'll see..........

No way will either of them bottle it. They'll both be out to prove a point and Paddy's suffered plenty of stick in the past and just laughed it off.

My money's on a cracking performance from our favourite butch lesbian.

And while the Paddy songs gave me a chuckle to read, I'll not be singing them. Welcome back Paddy, you dumbass, disloyal but rather good goalie. (not much of a ring to that is there?)

But thankfully, not as good as the bloke that replaced you, you disloyal two hat.....:)

Not a chance whatsoever Linz. Paddy will play, it's not going to be nice for him but he's a big boy and won't be anywhere near the abuse Sol Campbell got (and still gets) when he played against Spurs.

Once the game kicks off apart from a few chants whats really going to happen? I just hope some of our fans can resist their neanderthalic tendancies and not spoil the name of the club by throwing stuff at him.

Big difference between Warnock leaving Pesch or Kazim Richards on the bench and Warnock not playing a player due to the fact the opposition fans would give him stick!

Paddy has made his choice - being with Neil Warnock is more important to him than the fans or club at Bramall Lane. He'll be 100% committed to his new club and treat the stick he gets just the same as as the "you fat bastard" chants down the years. He'll love it and it'll just draw out a great performance from him.

If anyone at QPR has any feelings towards us it's Warnock. He might choose to rest Paddy - but Paddy won't bottle it.

Think Santos makes a good point. Verbal stick will be expected and accepted - throwing coins or whatever will have all sorts of ramifications we really don't need.

The best way to show contempt for Paddy and the way he took the money and ran would be simple. When he runs over to the Kop all smiling and laughing, we should turn our backs on him. No singing, no chanting, no clapping. Just turn our backs on him, the way he turned his back on us. That would hurt him more than any abuse.

I don't understand what point you're making there, but anyway..........

If Warnock feels the situation will be any sort of distraction for Paddy and his other players (i.e. too much pressure for instance) he might take the view that leaving Paddy out would avoid this. If he's smart (and I tend not to give him that much credit), he will realise that playing another keeper would take the sting right out of the home crowd.

I do think he will play though, because having started his no.1 last week and no talk of an injury up to now, it would be too obvious to leave him out now.

Who nose?

Come on Linz, what do you think? Cough up! Get it off your chest!

:D

Having said all that, I certainly won't be paying a lot of close attention to Paddy during the game. I'm far more interested in how we go on as a team and how we play. The only time I want to have to look at Paddy, is when a Ched Evans shot is whistling past him into the onion bag!!!!

If Hartlepool is anything to go by they could leave Paddy at home and go with ten men,for how much we'lle trouble their goal.

Said this one a few times myself, I think it will also have far more of an impact on him too.

I have heard many things that I can't repeat that would make me doubt that Warnock has any feelings for us what so ever.

Ched 2 for 2, could it really happen? :)

Nah... just get an inkling that he'll be "rested".

The thread title was supposed to be inflammatory, I think if he doesn't play, it won't have been his decision to "bottle" as it were.

What like? Like daring to ask for a new contract and pay rise and protecting his family and maximising his income - or are you talking about dodgy things?

Warnock will have been working on him since the fixtures came out.

Bottle it? No chance. He'll love every bit of abuse and turn it against us with a star performance...

Should be worth the entrance fee then for the Gordon Banks tribute act.....:)

Childish I know, but I hope he gets some right shit.

"Protecting his family"....LOL....Just how they make do on 10 thousand pounds each week is beyond me.

You are allowed to side with your club once a decade, or so.

I do, just get me a proper manager Alco and the world will be a better place.

These insinuations about Warnock really piss me off. You'd do exactly the same.

I gave up work in a well paid position to spend more time with my family. I'm a million miles away from these types financially. You cannot say that "you'd do exactly the same" to me.

How footballers put the highest buck beyond all other measures is beyond me. Why the public excuses their actions bemuses me.
