Will Osula

It's good to see him pin his colours to the mast so to speak and go down the Denmark route. He has a good opportunity to progress to first team level too and any experience like this is great for his development.

Why would he not? He was born there. I’m guessing he may be eligible for another nation through parents/grandparents, but I’m not sure which country(ies)?

Haaland was born in England. 😉

I think Osula was eligible for Denmark, England & Nigeria.

Don’t know if he does qualify for other country’s but he’s Danish born and bred so would always choose his own country. Think he was like 15 or something when he left Denmark to move to Sheffield when we signed him.

In theory he could have waited for the potential not to happen England call up as been in our academy system long enough. But he is also of Nigerian heritage

Yes, the 2nd part of my answer clearly relates to Osula.

The first part of my answer relates to the fact that a player can choose to represent a country other than his birth. A fact that seemed to surprise you. 🤷‍♂️
If you read what I said again, I said I did not know if his parents/grandparents were from somewhere other than Denmark and he may therefore be eligible for whichever countries those are.

Think he was at Manchester United before us. He's been in England since he was at least 11 so I think he could qualify for England via that

I wonder if someone like Rotherham would have him? Might work well in their direct style.

Agreed, although if the lack of money is correct we may need him for back up which won't be good for his development

Utd's recruitment over summer will be interesting. While I'm not expecting Chelsea / Forest style splurges, I wouldn't pay too much attention to the £20m figure being banded about wbich a lot of people appear to be stuck on.
Tbh I don't mind how much they spend on fees as long as the squad is as strong as can be within the overall budgetary constraints via a combo of players being signed for fees, free agents and loans.
With the tight limit on the latter, PH, Paul Mitchell and the recruitment team are going to be cute and squeeze every bit of value out of those signed.

I think England are ranked 5th best team in the world, Denmark 19th & Nigeria 40th. I think that Nigeria see long term value in attracting young English players with a dual heritage before they commit to England u21's, with the promise of fast tracking them to full internationals.

Don’t think he was ever signed by Man Utd. Just did Man Utd soccer schools back in Denmark and visited them with other kids from the soccer schools from around Europe for some sort of event but was never their academy player. That’s what I read at some point about him.

It's also why we are being linked with players like Coady and McArthur, no or low cost players with Premier league experience. If we can combine players like them with signing Doyle and some high class loan players we r in with a fighting chance

Don't over think it. We need to score at least 40 goals. Write down our 1st team squad (you can even add Dolye/McArthur & Coady) and put predicted goals against their names. Still think we've got a fighting chance? ;)

Ndiaye hatricks against Luton, Bur nley, Bournemouth and Everton. McB will get 15, Brewster 10, Berge 6, Anel 5, Egan 4,

There we go, that's over 50 before others chip in 🤣

Fast tracking to full internationals doesn't hold the grip on status that it once did.

Rules changed, you can now play full internationals and still change countries.

The the budget isn’t £20m its now zero, we have heard this on here from the horse’s mouth..

I'd be extremely grateful if you kept your footballing facts out of this thread. You & they weren't invited. Thank you. 👍

Jebbo was born and raised in Canada but up to now has chosen to represent England.

Oil McBurnie, he will score 30 and Ndiaye will win the Ballon d’Or.......
