Anyone seen his individual goal in the last seconds to beat Manure ?
Collects on wing , beats some defenders and hits a curling shot around others into the top corner.
If the received wisdom on here is that Oné is better , I can't wait ....

We were just seeing promising signs about Osula's ability before we sold him. That's the way it is in football today, but a pity we didn't really get to see him at his best for us.

He actually started the move. Laid it off then went sprinting down the right.
Maguire thought better than to race him to the touchline

If anyone wants to watch it -

What an absolute pearl of a goal. Great tenacity and athleticism to get to the ball in the first place, topped off with a fantastic curling finish.

Osula genuinely has to traits to become a top striker. He reminds me a lot of Drogba in is prime; strong, knows where the goal is and a great athlete. Seems to be developing a knack of scoring important goals too.

Here's hoping Ryan Oné can start to step up and fulfill his potential.

I agree it was a great goal but that stumble shows there is a fine line between greatness and humiliation… fortunately the gods shone on him in the fraction of a second

I mean the stumble came following multiple sprints and a stretch to keep the ball in, he did extremely well. Strange angle to take on his goal imo.

I'm not sure he'll be getting that many more at the level to be honest.

He sprinted off almost unaware of where the ball was, nearly fell over and then shot from an angle he probably shouldn't shoot from.

Like Jan Age said, if he'd not saved the stumble, he'd look a fool rather than a hero.

I know he was a baby, but for us Osula looked like the weakest 6ft man in history. Was weirdly incapable of shielding the ball.

I still think 10m was a great deal for us.

Edit: I forgot to mention his "world's biggest" stepovers.

Why would he have looked a fool, he literally had to sprint then stretch to keep the ball in, the stumble would have simply been the result of this exertion.

If you watch it back he’s the one that wins the ball on the edge of the box before tuning and looking for the run.

Fantastic goal but some properly shoddy defending

It's a fantastic goal.

He showed glimpses with us. Rawness, pace, power bit of skill at times.
Issue we had was he just wasn't that composed usually.

I remember seeing him do similar types of running and then the finish. The finish was usually skied instead.

It made alot of sense to sell him though at the time and I think we can stand by that. Helped us with the relegation and to bring in a few players.

What we should celebrate though is this is yet another player our academy can say they've produced. Yeah we signed him technically when he was 17/18 but he went into our academy initially. And it's still our club/academy that picked him up. (Similar in a way to the likes of Jags, Tonge etc.)

Premier League player falling over trying to dribble? Would have looked a fool.

I'm not laying into the guy. Glorious goal for him.

I just don't think he's good enough for the Prem. I've been wrong once or twice in my life though, so there's always hope for him.

He wasnt trying to dribble, he stumbled keeping it in play after a sprint.

Well eintracht Frankfurt bid 30 mil for him and villa were after him in January but couldn't move because of psr so it looks like you are wrong again

You do realise that "perfection" is dull dull dull, don't you?

Would he have developed in the same way here that he has at Newcastle better players better infrastructure/resources better coaching?
I think not
