£30m for a 22 year old striker with 4 senior career goals?! Games gone.

The game went a long time ago.

When you have various ordinary players commanding huge transfer fees, and £100k plus a WEEK in wages, and the likes of Chelsea having young kids on £30-£40k a week who will never play for them and are instead just used as a way to bring in loan fees, and then young kids some as young as 6 years old being signed up on a contract and their parents mortgage paid off etc....

The game is basically obscene now with the money involved. Meanwhile, we have things like food banks and people deciding whether to eat or heat their home, and councils cutting services left right and centre. In many respects, I absolutely despise elite football and all that comes with it.

Utter madness! And we wonder why we can't compete. When clubs at the top are spending this much on a player of Osulas pedigree it makes it impossible to compete even if you do get a season of Prem money.

Bonkers

Wow,I liked Osula for his potential. Seen him a few times for the Geordies and looks way off a premier league starter. He makes a lot of unnecessary fouls and gets in wrong positions. GLTTL,I hope he makes it.

I thought we were taking the piss when we got £10m for him, getting the full £15m is unreal.

Probably shouldn’t be surprised, this is the league that thought Louie Barry was worth £35k a week.

Looks like the Osula deal has collapsed last minute. No sell on fee for the time being.

Oh well, it was good while it lasted.

Looks like this transfer is back on. Hopefully some wonga coming our way after all.

🚨🧨 EXCL | Eintracht Frankfurt are looking for a third striker and still want to sign William #Osula.

Reason is the long-term injuries to Burkardt (likely out until the end of February) and Batshuayi (end of March).

Negotiations with Newcastle are ongoing. Verbal agreement between Osula/#SGE is 100 % done. #NUFC

1.) Ebnoutalib ✔️
2.) Kalimuendo – medical Monday
3.) Osula – 🧘🏼

And if we had held onto him until he was worth £30m while still at United, it might have paid 2026's wages. But mUsT SelL fOr FIrSt oFFeR hEs DoNe NOtHiNg
Or we could have held onto him and he not done anything as there was no guarantee he would improve, after all how many goals has he scored for Newcastle.
Sometimes clubs / businesses cannot do right for doing wrong

In the ideal world yes, but I think this is where PL status helps and a "sexy name" as well. Little old Shef United aren't getting £30m for Will Osula. Bellingham minor went for £30m didn't he? and He at least had played a major part in Sunderlands promotion season.

Pretty ludicrous. He's gone there, done nothing, value's tripled.

Slightly galling that we did the majority of his development yet see so little of the £40m he's likely to transfer for over the two deals.

Hopefully them making such a big profit kicks his add-ons into action (£5m) as well as his sell-on clause (10/15%) but I've no idea how it works.

We should have kept hold of him to the bitter end, it worked out so well with Jebbison 🙄
