The lino should have advised him to do that.

My suggestion would be that Hawkeye doesn’t just buzz when a goal is scored, but also indicates when the ball is partially over the line. That way ref will know whether the system has made a judgement based on data rather than failed to even notice the fricking ball was in Birmingham.
