No it’s not. You’ve made that up.

Been saying the same thing for the past 2 months. Our form since Xmas is that of a bottom 6 team.
How do you 'cull' players on 3 year contracts on money they've never earned before? Plus established players on recently renewed contracts?
They simply will not be prepared to move away on less money just to make space for us.
We have a strong squad which needs improvement in 4 positions at most. Carefully targeted signings from a respectable budget will make us competitive for top 6, not certs but competitive.
Bear in mind Coutts and Freeman hopefully fit by next pre-season.
I think we could and will achieve it by loan signings mainly - that's where the quality is in our situation.
Reed and Long have to be considered. Thomas has qualities in his locker.
I am not saying chuck them in Cooper. We still have a chance of the play-offs, albeit a smaller one than we did before yesterday's game. This isn't the time to see how one of the young players stands up to first team football.
If the play-offs are mathematically impossible when we go to Bristol then maybe stick one of them on the bench then.
There's no-one in the under 23s whose performances are showing they're better than any of the first team squad to the best of my knowledge so to play any of them v PNE would be tantamount to giving up and I'd be disgusted by that.
Moot point anyway because Wilder won't do it.
We are taking about seasoned pro's in their mid 20's upwards, ILTRM. The ability to close a game out shouldn't be an issue for them in 90% of the games they play this season. We're not talking about defending a goal lead in a cup game at the Etihad, we're talking about defending hopeful long punts from Millwall.![]()
It depends on the season, this season that is comfortable lower mid table form.
Last season, Blackburn were relegated on 51 points so if we start with 28 points from 21 matches next season we could easily be in the relegation mix.
I take it you’ve watched a lot of the 23’s games thenWe still have a chance of the play-offs, albeit a smaller one than we did before yesterday's game. This isn't the time to see how one of the young players stands up to first team football.

Left centre back could play him and restLove to see Calum Semple
You clearly don’t watch the 23s unlike our head scout Mitchell. I trust his opinion before anyone’s.
I take it you’ve watched a lot of the 23’s games then
Give me Ty Smith over Wilson or Ched all day long.
Give me Semple over Heneghan and Wright all day long.
Give me Slater or Gilmour over Caruthers and Leonard all day long.
Give me Norrington Davis over Lafferty all day long.
From November to February my big concern was we looked terrible. No spark, just a run of the mill side. To be fair we've played really well a few times since then and not taken our chances/defended like idiots. I don't think how we play needs to change but it only works when the players fully buy in.
But I do think we need a GK, CB, LWB and 2 CFs at least in the summer. Also 2 quality loan signings. We can't expect to get as much out of all our current
The 30+ players next year
I find the idea that Long and Reed should be considered for anything quite.....amusing.
Consult Redhead then. He may the right to a view, not sure you have Bashar.
Reed and Long are young in their respective positions but have so many league first team games under their belts for their age.
Anybody has to respect rather than laugh in amusement at that. Seasoned first teamers now.
He’s out on loan I think.Left centre back could play him and rest
O'Connell ,he is highly rated would be good move
Semple has been playing for the 23 s he is availableHe’s out on loan I think.
Are you expecting every player from this year's squad to stay?Just the 7 new signings then![]()
I thought he went to Scandinavia with Hallam?Semple has been playing for the 23 s he is available
"Seasoned first teamers" indeed. One at a club fighting to avoid the 4th division and the other at a club all but relegated to non-league......
.........And Sheffield United should be 'considering' them........
I was being generous when I said it was amusing. It's positively laughable.

We were in League 1 actually. Laugh out loud.
Again it's the sharp paradox. If both/either Long & Reed weren't on our books, people would be suggesting them as potential sensible signings of youngish players for the future.
And now we are not, do keep up.
Semple had only played one full 90 minutes when asked to go to Norway.I thought he went to Scandinavia with Hallam?
I understand your point Cooper.I don't watch the U23s (only seen them once this season). I do see who Wilder picks in his first team squad every week though and that suggests that there's no-one in the U23s who he thinks is ready.
I was just taking issue with the idea that we should include Semple, Smith, or anyone else who hasn't been involved, in a match which still has a lot of importance. Some people seem to think it's the first round of the league cup or something.
Like I said, I haven't seen the U23s but if we were playing a match that my life depended on, I'd be pretty confident I was doing the right thing if I only selected players (with the exception of Heneghan) from the right hand side of your list. There's no way that at this moment in time, the academy players would be better suited to a Championship football game than the more established professionals.
It ought to. Frankly, CW's January signings have been shit bar Evans.I understand your point Cooper.
Having watched the 23s I would have Semple, Slater, Gilmour and Smith ahead of Ched, Wilson, Heneghan, Caruthers every day of the week.
The down side of this is that the youngsters are trying to dislodge CW signings. So it isn’t really going to happen.
He came back Hallam stayedI thought he went to Scandinavia with Hallam?
There's one here that wouldn't.Again it's the sharp paradox. If both/either Long & Reed weren't on our books, people would be suggesting them as potential sensible signings of youngish players for the future.

I'm not sure about Long actually but he is highly rated by Wimbledon fans this season, week in week out. Moore looks edgy to me . Blackman different class though.
As for Reed. If he's not now better than Evans, Lundstram and Leonard, I'd be amazed.
Come to think, Whiteman would have done at least as well as the new signings since January and better than Lundstram too.
We have aimed too low and been guilty of not seeing what we already had.
Mitchell has a fair bit to do this summer.
