Yeah, it was poor. I expected better from Billy. If he was shooting then he should have aimed for top corner.
Eh. Clarke must have something on him then Roy and Billy wasn’t much better. He also said only Sharp and Clarke deserve any credit tonight
Yeah, it was poor. I expected better from Billy.
My thoughts...
1. Something is not right behind the scenes.
2. It needs sorting quickly
3. For the first time I now seriously think we may lose CW at the end of the season.
Are you saying we looked great against QPR?I agree with Wilder.
The match tonight was a lot like the qpr game. Frantic is the best word to describe it.
I don't think, even if we got on the playoffs, we'd have enough to get over the line. Gut feeling.
That said, We got the breaks on Tuesday. Hull got the breaks tonight. It's the same in most championship games, everyone can beat everyone, everyone can look great one week, and shit the next.
The play offs have gone and even if we get into them we will be the whipping boys and perhaps maybe I can say it Chris is not going to lead us to the promised land. Its one game, albeit a terrible game but its one game we've lost. The play offs are very much alive. Man City the "greatest team ever assembled" lost to Wigan do you think that means there season is over? Its what happens now that decides play offs. Hopefully Wilder is saying to the players "its up to you and how much you want it". He doesn't genuinely feel the play offs are gone.
Hiccup we are not good enough and the embarrassing chase for Leonard for a year has been a waste of time as shown by him thus far.Why have we suddenly changed our up and at 'em dynamic style, when was the last time O'Connell overlapped Stevens and whipped the ball in, same with Basham and Baldock. The movement is very poor and our build up play very pedestrian and predictable. We don't close the opposition down like we were doing, we don't hassle and hurry them into mistakes, that energetic style is what got us to where we are and it is the only way we will reach the top six.
We had no cutting edge tonight, nobody created any space until Duffy came on and introduced a bit of the unexpected and unsettled them a bit. For most of the game we ran out of options and were reduced to knocking hopeful balls up towards Leon, who didn't win one. Clarke looks like he's just going through the motions, he doesn't put himself about or use his size and physique nearly as effectively as Billy Sharp does. He had a great chance second half took it down before his heavy touch gifted it straight to their defender and he just stopped, in what looked like an attempt to pretend he'd been put off by a whistle from the crowd. We are desperate for some alternatives up front, but that will have to be next season now.
Tonight was probably worse than even Preston away but, it's been a great first season back, the team have been superb and on the whole, they've produced some great performances. So I suppose, on reflection we have to accept the occasional hiccup and maybe reassess our expectations a little, safe in the knowledge that Wilder will ultimately get it right. UTB![]()
He should look inwards tonight, he's fucking around with the team too much. This Lenny is a mistake, don't play him just because he's a £750k signing. Duffy has been the master all season, stick to a winning formula.
don't believe for a moment he's given up.. that was a 'prove me wrong you wankers' if i ever heard itLove Wilder's interview. It Shakes the players out of their coma, lulls the other playoff contenders into a false sense of security , great negative psychology.
Stevens has left him marooned a few times recently i don't blame himSo (for example) Jack O’Connel decided not to bomb forward and overlap once in the whole game Chris and he wasn’t playing to instructions, and every player just decided to lump it out of defence and hope somebody got a flick on for most of the first half?
Sorry it doesn’t wash.
Well I must be one of Wilder’s biggest fans but I think that he needs to have a good look at himself after that shower of shite.
How many if us thought that a midfield three of Fleck, Evans and Leonard had enough attacking flair and why did every player just hoof it out of deference especially in the first half? That has to be down to Wilder’s instructions, not one player tried to consistently pass the ball out of defense until the second half, but they scored the goal and that killed it just as it looked like we’d started to play.
Chris and Alan are as much to blame for that shocker.
Are you saying we looked great against QPR?
Neither do I, midfield are supposed to cover if both bomb forward.Stevens has left him marooned a few times recently i don't blame him
usually.. won't happen here i don't think. Wilder has too much respectReverse psychology. But unless key players are in on his act, it could backfire big time. Players quickly lose respect for managers that call them out in public. And players usually win when that happens.
agree.. that is where Couttsy is such a missDoubt he sent them out with instructions to forget how to play the game to even the most basic standards.
Neither do I, midfield are supposed to cover if both bomb forward.
